Well it sure didn't take long to fill up Erika's schedule! Thank you everyone for all the support! Next year as we grow the school and bring in new teachers (If its safe) we will be able to take on more students! Spots do sometimes open up, so please don't hesitate to contact us to be add to our waitlist :)

Music lessons from a great teacher can make a huge difference, however becoming a great musician takes years of hard work and patience! A labour of love :)

Hello! While we can't fling our doors fully open for a long time yet, we CAN tell you all about our plans for the school! We already made a post about our Library, which we are very excited about! Here are some more cool features we will be offering once the school is open! Movie nights - Our group lesson room will feature a projector for displaying lessons in large view on the wall, but we are also excited to be able to have movie nights! Once a month (most likely) we wi...ll host a movie night where we watch either, a concert, a documentary, a Biopic or just a fun movie about music! We will also supply the popcorn and drinks! Group Classes - Our group lesson room will be a great place to attend group classes such as: Song writing, group Ukulele, master classes, group guitar classes, group rhythm (hand drums etc.) and more! Open mic nights - While we will be offering year end recitals, we will also host the occasional more laid back open mic night for those students who are a little bit more nervous about performing. Performance is such a huge part of being a musician, and we believe it is important to learn and cultivate that skill in a safe and supportive manner. Recording Studio - Okay, Okay... its not a REAL recording studio. However, we do have enough gear and know how to help our students record a a great sounding demo or EP. The layout of our space will be great for doing small to medium recording sessions for our students who want to make something special to share with friends and family and more! Loaner Instruments - While this is still in the works, and will depend on some donations, we are hoping to have a collection of basic instruments (electric and acoustic guitars, ukulele's etc.) that students can borrow to try something different, or if they want to try out a few lessons before committing to buying an instrument. Here is something we are super excited and proud of! The Library! While it's just a pile of books and CD's now, we will have everything organized, labeled and ready to borrow when we open. We have been, and still are and always will!, be collecting donations of old CD's and sheet music for our future students! Not only will it keep all of this stuff out of the landfill, it will greatly benefit our students and families who can't afford to buy new music and books :) ...For new students who are unsure of weather they want to take lessons long term, they can borrow a beginner method book while they try out lessons and decide if they like it or not. Also students can try out different method books! More experience students will have tons of sheet music to look through and borrow instead of having to buy an entire book to play one piece! We will also have a listening station set up in the waiting room for people to check out different music while they wait between lessons, and can check out and take home CD's! (We know CDs are "oldschool" now but we still love them!) SO! If you have any old CD's or sheet music you would like to donate, please don't hesitate to contact us!

What will we be offering? - We will have 3 private lesson studios, consisting of our main piano studio (which is currently up and running) and two smaller 10x10 lesson rooms, as well as a larger 10x20 group lesson room. - Available instruments will depend on the teachers we end up hiring! However most of the basics will be sure to be covered from the start, including: Piano, Voice, Guitar, Bass and Ukulele. As we grow we will offer more instruments :) ... - We are excited to have a large space to teach group classes, masterclasses, workshops and much more! - While we will offer end of semester recitals, we are also planning to work with a local coffee shop or restaurant to host a bi-monthly open mic night just for students!

Who are we? We are Erika and Bob Wilson! We have been teaching, performing and writing music in Nanaimo for many years, and now we are very excited to get the ball rolling on the next adventure in our lives together! Our focus is on creativity and passion, and we will work hard to help you reach your musical goals! While the school sadly can't open yet due to the ongoing pandemic. We will share our journey of getting everything up and running and the actual building of the school with you in the meantime! We will also be posting and sharing musical education content along the way! We look forward to meeting you in person some day soon! :)

While we are currently only offering lessons in Piano and Voice due to the ongoing pandemic. We are excited to announce that we have officially started taking steps to getting the school open! You can follow our journey here over the next year, and when life can finally return to normal, we will be able to fully open our doors and share our love of music with the community!
