What is the difference between a condo townhouse and townhouse? Our definition for townhouse may be different compare to other parts of the world. Townhouse is the same as row house; three or more houses lined up in a row and share the walls with your neighbours house. Townhouse is cheaper than the single-family home because it has less land. It is cheaper than condo as per square feet. It has similar living space as most single homes; however, if you love gardening and h...osting parties, this may not be the best option because there’s not much of land and not much visitor parking. A freehold townhouse is very similar to most single house, you maintain your front and backyard, you take care of the snow, and you maintain your own house. A condo townhouse has a maintenance fee. The maintenance fee covers your water bill, the lawn, snow removal, the exterior of your house; most of the time it also covers your doors, windows, and garage door. The biggest pros of condo living are maintenance free and conveniently located. The cleanliness and curb appeal are taken care. There are flowers growing outside the building and clean lobby. During the wintertime, you don’ have to get up early in the morning to take care of the snow. People will come in and change the air filter for you and will check the smoke detector and alarm system. If you are going away for a vacation, you just need to lock your unit door. What about the cons? Yes, you must pay maintenance fee every month, and it’s not cheap. You are attached and surrounded to others. Your neighbor’s lifestyle may greatly impact you, such as noise, cooking, cleanliness. Condo has its rules and regulations to follow that you need to check out before you buy. For pet free building, you may only have a tank of fish.
