#BigArtTO is in Etobicoke -Lakeshore this weekend! Visual artist Akshata Naik will be projecting her art piece 'Song of the water' on a building in Amos Waites... Park in Lakeshore as part of #showloveto initiative. "'Song of the water' is a video piece created in VR (Virtual reality) using Oculus Quest. The inspiration behind this work is the time spent by the lake in Toronto reminiscing the memories of where I come from, and the existing experience of making this place my home. As a newcomer, the current pandemic situation has led me to evolve my work and pivot digitally during times of social distancing. 'Song of the water' is an exploration of space, time, movement, and its dynamic nature." -Akshata Naik Visit Akshata Naik website: https://akshatanaik.com/ to learn more about her and her work. Dates: September 26 - 27 Location: Amos Waites Park, 2441 Lake Shore Blvd. W., M8V 1C5 Time: 8 11 PM #BigArtTO aims to bring a bit of culture to where you live. This is an initiative by the City of Toronto - Your Local Government, City of Toronto Arts & Culture and OCAD University to bring safe public art to all 25 wards of the city and transform spaces with light and art. **Free writing** by @_daniellemcbrideyoga :: Some are pressed up against the glass to see us, others indifferent -- In all honesty I couldn't tell you which I prefer. How does one run with the masses and stand out in the crowd?... Impossible to be different when you're acting the same. Impossible to lead a revolution when you hide from your name. For just one night, I'll be her and she'll be me I'll stand in the light and she's not anywhere to be seen Staring aimlessly into this abyss which has become my stage I've lost the creativity amongst the fame Bring me back to balance hidden in the afterglow.

Trying new things! Wicked application of pastel and acrylics into a fun sketch. Crafted out during an art party with friends, fearless and fearful I make sense of marks, colours, and freedom.
