Do you ever just sit there and watch your baby sleep? Simply taking in all of their sweet little details? Or maybe they're having an extra long stretch of sleep and you feel compelled to check in on them? Believe me, this is a normal reaction when they get their first long stretch of sleep! Newborns typically between 1 and 3 hours at first. In their second or third month, we start seeing them sleep for a bit longer. And this usually coincides with growth-spurt time!... I'll often hear parents say that their slept for 6 hours straight but the parent kept waking up anticipating needing to change or feed the baby. So, while we're awake overanalyzing why baby is sleeping longer tonight, your little one is peacefully snoozing away Wanna know more about ? Have an idea about how you want your birth to go? Most of us do. And if you don't know, a non-answer is still a valid answer! Just having an idea isn't enough though. You need to take action So......... How do you picture your birth experience? In a birthing centre In the middle of the forest Or a planned c-section Your birth location doesn't really matter to me. What matters to me is that you are comfortable with your decision. And that you take action. Ways to take Register for a childbirth class. Make sure it has the info for your ideal birth Hire a birth doula Hire a postnatal doula. You'll appreciate the extra hands and extra sleep! Write it down! What would your birth look like? What are you excited about? What are your fears? What feelings come up when you think of "birth"? These are all things we can work on together. If you're not in my region, that's no problem.
