To all my family, friends and clients, I can't stress the IMPORTANCE of this message: Yes, as you likely have seen or heard, most mortgage lenders and insurers are providing relief for those experiencing financial hardship due to COVID-19. This is not something that is AUTOMATIC. Please do not stop making your regularly agreed upon mortgage payments. You need to have an approval from the lender and make arrangements, which could include deferring payments, skip-a-payment, and so on. For your reference, I've included a list of some major lenders and financial institutions customer service numbers below, but if for some reason you don't see yours on this list, feel free to reach out to me. I'm here, still operating my business as usual, and helping you navigate this changing mortgage landscape.

The great rate debate. All mortgages are not created equal. It's super important for me to share this with you, my clients, friends, family and perhaps future clients, as there has always been a huge emphasis on rate when it comes to securing a mortgage. Sometimes rate is not the most important factor, especially when you see the numbers in the chart below. Chart A is from a monoline lender, such as First National or MCAP, available only through the broker channel, while chart B is from one of the big 5 banks. Keep in mind, that when breaking your mortgage mid-way through your term, the penalty may be much greater. Talk to me about options. Pull back the curtain and know what's actually behind the rate.
