A quick lesson on How To Lead Your Energy: So my daughter is over at my parents’ home this morning as I have a full day of work and we both appreciate the spac...e. As well, her laptop is in the shop to get tuned up and fixed for the next half of the year, and I’ve given her my MacBook to use in the interim. This morning she needed to sign on to her classroom. A few minutes after what would have been the beginning of the start of her class, I received a text message from her saying she wasn't able to get in. And it started sending her on a big wave of panic. I immediately called my parent’s phone and connected with her, and could hear her that growing frustration in her voice. The logging-in was stalling out, she was being repeatedly redirected. And then, the words started coming: I guess I'm not going to have that productive of a day anyway. Well it seems that things aren't going to work out the way I want. Oh, gosh I'm going to be so late. I'm not going to know what's going on. I guess it's not going to be the kind of day I thought it was going to be... Right away - being the Energy mama bear that I am - I gently said to her in a very solid voice: Where are you going with your Energy, Evangeline? Please watch what you're doing. You don't know how this is going to go. And yes, perhaps things haven't worked out exactly the way that you want it to. But, allow yourself the time to breathe. Take a breath. Make sure that you're doing all that you are able to to get this to work. Perhaps let's restart it again and see what's going on. And the day will just go the way that it will go as long as you keep your Energy in check. I added in as well: Look at me. I've sat down to start working and got into some momentum. And now it stopped. Am I supposed to be getting angry about this? Do you think that's the best thing that I can do with how I feel? Within minutes, Evangeline was able to log on. I stayed on the phone up until I heard the voices of the other children. A minute later, she sent me a text that said, ‘Oh my gosh mom, they haven't even finished taking attendance yet.’ And what was written is included in the text exchange below.
