Officers from North Division have arrested a male in relation to an armed robbery at a pharmacy in Port Perry. On Wednesday, April 14, 2021, at approximately 4:...30 p.m., members of North Division were called to Pharmacy Associates on Water Street in Port Perry. The suspect entered the pharmacy and brandished a knife. The suspect took items and fled on foot. Members from North Division attended the area with the assistance of Air1 and K-9 units. After searching the area, the suspect was located and arrested. The victims did not suffer any physical injuries. Paul HANSEN, age 32 of No Fixed Address, is charged with Robbery, Disguise with Intent, and Possession of Weapon for Dangerous Purpose. He was held for a bail hearing. Investigators are looking for a male suspect in an armed robbery of a convenience store in Courtice on Tuesday evening. On Tuesday, April 13, 2021, at 9:36 p.m...., members of East Division were called to Daisy Mart Convenience store on Nash Road in Courtice. The suspect who was armed with a hatchet, entered the store and attempted to purchase items but did not have any money. The owner refused to comply and the suspect fled the scene. Investigators are also investigating a separate incident at the Food Worth's Variety, on Trulls Road. At approximately 8:55 p.m. a male entered the convenience store carrying a bag and walked to the counter. The suspect placed the bag on the counter and demanded money. The staff member told the suspect to leave and the suspect left on food heading North on Trulls Road. It is believed that the suspect in this incident is also responsible for the robbery at the Daisy Mart. Neither of the victims received any physical injuries. Officers searched the area for the suspect, with negative results. The suspect, is described as male white, 20-35 years, approximately 5' 10" with a slim build. He was wearing a beige coat, a light brown hoodie and light coloured pants. The suspect was armed with a hatchet in the Daisy Mart incident. Numerous individuals are facing serious charges at the conclusion of Project KAKIA, a Durham Regional Police (DRPS) and Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) joi...nt investigation into organized crime within the Region of Durham and surrounding jurisdictions. This was a six-month multi-jurisdictional investigation led by the DRPS Gun and Gang Enforcement Unit in partnership with the Royal Canadian Mounted Police Transnational Serious and Organized Crime Unit. Further support and funding was provided by the Ontario Government, Criminal Intelligence Service Ontario. DRPS, RCMP, Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), Peterborough Police Service, Toronto Police Service, Belleville Police Service and Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) executed 55 search warrants at locations within the Region of Durham, Belleville, Madoc, Montreal, Hamilton and Toronto, which resulted in 28 persons arrested and 291 charges laid, with charges ranging from break and enter, participation in criminal organizations, firearm trafficking and possession of controlled substances including cocaine, fentanyl methamphetamine and cannabis edibles. Approximately 1.2 million dollars in drugs and 32 firearms were seized along with other related evidence during this investigation. The criminal networks involved a number of members of the Hells Angels Motorcycle Club (HAMC) from the Brooklin and Belleville charters, as well as the Red Devils Motorcycle Club (RDMC). The investigation also provided information related to a homicide that occurred in Oshawa on November 29, 2020 which resulted in the arrest of Bradley WHITE (RDMC) for his participation in this offence. During the course of Project Kakia, police seized: - 32 Firearms - 2 Percussion grenades - Overcapacity magazines - Thousands of rounds of ammunition - 5 Motor vehicles - $290,000 in Canadian currency - $148,000 in Property Obtained by Crime (Lululemon Clothing and 2 Breitling watches) - 5.5 kilograms of Cocaine - 1.5 kilograms of Psilocybin - 7.7 kilograms of Cannabis Marihuana - 1.2 kilograms of Cannabis Resin - 1.2 kilograms of Methamphetamine - 54 grams of Heroin - 141 grams of Fentanyl powder - 7336 Fentanyl pills - 6187 Cannabis edibles packaged as candy - 20 kilograms of cutting agent - Outlaw Motorcycle clothing from HAMC and RDMC The DRPS and RCMP would like to thank the members of the investigative team for their dedication and perseverance, our law enforcement partners, the Criminal Intelligence Service Ontario and all of the other law enforcement agencies that provided assistance during this complex investigation. The Toronto Police Service would like to make the public aware of a man wanted in a homicide investigation. On Saturday, April 3, 2021, at 5:40 p.m., police res...ponded to a call for a shooting at 35 Trehorne Drive. It is reported that: - at approximately 5:30 p.m., two men were in a vehicle driving northbound on Scarlett Road - another vehicle drove up beside them and the occupants began to shoot at the men - the victims' vehicle was struck several times by bullets Habil Abdilahi Hassan, 21, of Toronto, died as result of his injuries. See previous release Antwan Triston James, 18, of Toronto, was identified as a suspect and is wanted on a Canada-wide warrant for: 1. First-Degree Murder 2. Attempted Murder He is considered armed and dangerous. The investigation is currently ongoing and officers are actively working to identify a second suspect. Suspect #2 is described as a man, black, 20-25 years, wearing light coloured jeans and a light blue surgical mask. The Toronto Police Service requests the public’s assistance locating a man wanted for failing to comply with his recognizance in relation to a Human Trafficking... investigation. On Saturday, January 23, 2020, Jamaal Koehler, 27, of Toronto, was arrested for various violent human trafficking related offences and ultimately released by the courts on a recognizance with various conditions. One of these conditions was to wear a remote monitoring device, specifically an ankle bracelet. He is believed to have removed the ankle bracelet and is currently evading arrest. He is wanted for 1) Fail to Comply with Recognizance He is described as 5’7", and 160 lbs. A photograph of him is released. He is believed to be violent, armed and dangerous.
