Natural Bliss Yoga 29.01.2021

Gratitude begets abundance Robin Wall Kimmerers' beautiful book #BraidingSweetgrass describes the healing concept that humans can interact with other species (plant and animal) where they may benefit from human activity rather than only suffer by our lifestyle and progress. When we treat the natural world and the resources that support our life with #gratitude, we may live in #reciprocity, and all will thrive.... Today I meditate on two of the foundational concepts of yoga - #yamas #3 & #5 - and how they can be applied to humans as a species: #Asteya (non-stealing) - not to take what has not been given freely, and #Aparigraha (non-grasping) - trusting that if we don't hoard wealth and resources, that our needs will be met. This #Thanksgiving I'm grateful for the wild places of the Yukon from up here on #Mt.Anderson in the #WheatonValley. Thank you for the sunshine lighting up the last of the bright leaves , the many trees swaying in the wind that give us fresh air, the soft vegetation that supports animal life, the majestic caribou we saw walking and munching on the other side of the valley, and the human friends who appreciated it with me Thank you to Robin Wall Kimmerer for weaving together her life stories, Potawatami wisdom, and scientific knowledge to help us reimagine a future where humans can live in reciprocity with the natural world Blissed & blessed #yogainnature #yogayukon

Something amazing happened! Practicing #parivrttaanjaneyasana this week, breathing deep through the challenging core activation and rooted connection to both feet, my arms began to blossom from prayer hands to extension for the first time I've always loved this revitalizing posture, and feeling my body lead the way to something deeper in the moment, something beyond what I had felt many times, was a radiant experience. Yay yoga!... Can't wait to be back on the mat with all of you starting Tuesday #kramas #autumnbeauty #yoga #yogainnature #slowandsteady #yogaeveryday #revolvedlunge

Autumn is vata season: cold, windy, light, rough & mobile. Change is brought in on the breeze. It's a time of harvesting nourishment to store in our deep in our tissues for the dark & introspective winter months What growth have you been tending to this summer that you are reaping the results of now? What seeds will you take the time to preserve for planting next spring? This week I'm pulling together poems, sutras and alignment cues to build sequences with intention for ...our September sessions. Can't wait to see you all back on the mat! Classes are filling up, register while you can #vataseason #yogaeveryday #pigeonpose #rajakapotasana #yogaclassplanning #yoga #august #harvestseason #nourishment #mindfulness #transition
