Jack, Chikloo and Buri These dogs showed the same symptoms - vomiting, diarrhea, running nose, fever - the signs of the respiratory infection that has been in... town for 1,5 months already. Jack, Chikloo and Buri got the infection at around the same time. We took Jack to the clinic. The other two have caretakers so we treated them at their areas. Today we had to take Chikloo to the clinic as well because it was hard to find him every day. The treatment takes much time as they need fluids twice a day and a lot of care. We try to remain positive and hope that these dogs will cross the sickness fast. To support their medication please donate https://karmaanimaltrust.com/make-a-donation To help physically please come to volunteer at the clinic #rescue #rescuedog #rescuedogsofinstagram #rescueddogsofinstagram #adoptdontshop #nonprofit #dogsofinstagram #dogstagram #livedogs #dogsofindia #desidog #rishikesh #adopt #charity #animalcare #paws #veterinarian #petsofinstagram #streetdogsofindia #volunteer #volunteerindia

Normally, Dec-Feb is a low season for rescuers in Rishikesh. But this year something went wrong. Three weeks ago canine flu came to the town. The virus spread... so fast, we could hardly manage with all the sick dogs. Our days turned into non-stop distribution of medicines in hope to stop the virus. It was mad.. It is still mad! We keep receiving numerous calls about sick dogs and try our best to save them all. Last week, two more viruses came - distemper and parvo. They both are a nightmare for all animal rescuers in India. They spread by air and kill a huge number of younger dogs and puppies. The situation in the town is very critical. We made a decision to stop the sterilization camp for a while to focus fully on fighting those three viruses (two of them are fatal). If you are in Rishikesh and willing to help please read carefully: 1. Do NOT move puppies from their areas before you are serious about rescuing and adopting them. This may cause spreading the viruses. Contact us if you need guidance on adoption abroad. 2. If you know a dog in Ramjula, Laxmanjula, Tapovan who DOES NOT EAT or has RUNNING NOSE make a picture of the dog and contact us with the proper description of its location. The best thing you can do after is help us treating it. 3. If you know a dog with those symptoms in other areas, cooperate with your friends and bring the dog to a government clinic. We are over busy with all the cases in our areas, we are physically not able to rescue the animals in other areas right now. If you are NOT in Rishikesh but willing to help please help us raise funds for buying a scooter for the ngo. We do all the street work with one scooter, and it takes long time to visit all the dogs who need daily treatment. Buying an ngo scooter would help us do much more.
