We haven’t been to the sands this year, but the children were excited to be back. This is a great sensory experience as the children uses only their hands to work, no toys. As there is no toys the children are using their imagination as they create amazing structures. We made different shapes outside using loose parts that we could find in nature. The children worked in pairs which allowed for discussions, negotiations, problem solving and planning. Using loose parts allowed the activity be open ended, and allowed the children to use there imagination and be creative. I thought we could avoid mud but this group of children are mud lovers and found ways to added mud to there creations.
