The 2020 Chronic Wasting Disease (CWD) Surveillance collection is just kicking off! For the 2020 Deer hunting season, the Ministry of Natural Resources and For...estry (MNRF) has two regions that they are sampling. Southwest Region includes Wildlife Management Units 92, 93 & 94 - including subunits - see map below. Eastern Region includes Wildlife Management Unit 65. This sampling is critical in monitoring Ontario’s White-Tailed Deer for CWD. Over the course of the deer season(s) in Ontario, MNRF is asking interested hunters to submit the head from their harvest for sampling. If you are interested in participating in the 2020 CWD monitoring and would like to provide a sample, please check the listing below for a depot near you! I am hosting a collection depot at my residence for those in the Lambton County area. The first 500 participants will receive a limited production "2020 CWD Surveillance" crest. Once you arrive at the selected depot, there will be a requirement to fill out a very short description on your harvest; Name, Location of harvest, etc. As you are participating in the hunt, you may have field technicians with the MNRF CWD Surveillance program approach you to explain the program.
