Saskatchewan has 200+ species of natives bees that have been pollinating for thousands of years. Honey bees were introduced by European settlers. Native plants such as pumpkins and squash, blueberries and cranberries are more efficiently pollinated by native bees than by honey bees. Find out about the small actions you can take to support pollinators with a free online presentation from the Butterflyway Rangers with the David Suzuki Foundation. Advanced registration for this event on Monday, May 17th at 7:00 is required at www.natureregina.ca/events.
