Yesterday morning I woke up and freaked out bc I forgot to close my cold frames and it froze! I ran out at 6 am to find everything crunchy and hard with frost! We had just enjoyed our 3rd family serving of salad out of there (it self seeded from last year and the big onions were left from last year too) I had cute purple basil sprouts just up and the jalapeños were about an inch tall! I was very upset. I then remembered I had read in Little House On The Prairie that Pa woke e...veryone up before dawn because they had gotten a hard frost that night and the corn had just sprouted. They had to run around and pour water on every plant before the sun warmed them or they’d lose the whole crop! I’m sure pa explained it to the children why it worked but I don’t remember. Anyway I got the frozen hose out and water tricked out on every single plant. Eventually it freed up and I watered the snot out of everything! This is the after picture taken the next day! See more

Annnd finally got my diploma!! Two years to being a massage therapist are DONE!!!and I’ve just started my Manual Osteopath Therapy training and will be touting my diploma for that in March 2022! Nothing says #midlifecrisis like back to school in your 40’s!

This is my front yard. No light pollution here! I love winter. I love the long cold nights. I love the shortest day of the year. Maybe it’s because I’m a January baby? I love the Christmas holidays! I unabashedly do pleasurable activities. Puzzles, baking, drawing, games, fun projects.... I do have my finals next month and should really be studying... plenty of time to cram later!! I love it all!! Happy #wintersolstice2020! May we all find beauty and peace in the extremes of Canadian winter!
