We are grateful for the work they do in our community to create a more equitable future for all. After an intense eleven weeks, we are happy and relieved to welcome you back for in-store shopping. Our team has been hard at work rearranging and cleaning the store to offer you a safe and calm shopping experience. We know many of our customers found the ability to order their groceries very convenient, and we are pleased to continue offering this option. Social distancing requirements limit how many customers we can welcome at one time; as such, we ask that if at all possib...le, only one person from your household come in. If you arrive at the store and find you have to wait for other customers to leave, feel free to place an email order. We will fill it for you to pick up at your convenience. We have made changes to our bulk repackaging system, significantly increasing the number of bulk foods on offer to include staples like rice, legumes, and grains, and adding less expensive unscented options to our detergent line. Working with Northern Health, we have implemented a system whereby you can once again refill your containers to cut back on waste. Per their directions, containers for food must be dishwasher safe to 155F so that they can go through our high-temperature dishwasher. Unfortunately, this means recycled yogurt containers, bags, and the like can't be used but glass jars are ideal. Due to having to put containers through a high-temperature cycle, same day refills are not an option but we're happy to offer next-day pick up. A little planning can go a long way to cutting back on plastic. Please clearly label your jars with your name and email address and what you would like to have them filled with. You can still use your plastic containers for detergents and body care products, but they will be 'quarantined' before being filled. We want to extend our heartfelt thanks to our incredible team, who have taken all the upheaval in stride and with good humour. Their tireless work has allowed us to provide you with safe, uninterrupted service. We feel fortunate to be based in a community of kind people who prioritize shopping locally. Your encouragement and thoughtful notes over the past weeks mean more than you can know. We have been humbled by your support during this time and are eager to assist you. We will process it for pick up or free delivery (if required). Payments can be made by credit card or e-transfer. Should you not have phone or email, you can knock on our window during business hours (Tuesday to Saturday, 9:00 to 5:30) and we will put together your order. We appreciate your patience and understanding; we feel this is the best option we have to continue serving our community while also minimizing the risk to our small but mighty staff. Please be aware that in this rapidly evolving situation, we must limit the number of customers in the store at any one time. Please endeavour to plan SOLO visits to our store make arrangements for others in your care so you can shop efficiently on your own and minimize interactions with other shoppers. To Our Valued Customers: We are endeavouring to maintain regular business hours. In order to help us stay open, we ask that you be courteous of our other customers and our staff by coming SOLO to the store when at all possible. Unfortunately, we do not have the ability to extend our hours for seniors. Instead, we encourage you to call or email us your order, so that we can process it for you, thereby limiting your time at the store; we even have a wonderful customer on standby who would be happy to bike it to you! Please call us at 847-3943 or email an order to [email protected]. We'd be happy to extend this beyond seniors to even include parents who may not be able to secure child care.

We've taken a few proactive measures to minimize the spread of germs. We have suspended self-service at our bulk counter for the foreseeable future, but one of our staff will be happy to fill your order for you. We appreciate your patience as this may take a bit more time. We have increased our limit for the TAP option on our interact terminals to $200 so you can minimize contact during payment processing. We are making every effort to frequently sanitize high-traffic surfaces, such as door handles & the interact terminal, beyond our regular, thorough, daily cleaning schedule. If you are sick and require provisions, please consider calling in a phone order to 847-3943.

We know that many of our customers would like to cut down on packaging and single-use plastics. We are actively working to increase our bulk offerings to include more dry goods like rice, beans, etc, but this will take time to implement as it involves reconfiguring our store. In the meantime, here's a handy list of items we already have on hand. You can bring your own container to fill any time you visit!

It's our 9th annual Customer Appreciation Day! When you stop in today between 9:00 and 5:30, make sure you put your name in our prize draw. Our suppliers have provided hundreds of dollars worth of prizes! PS -- for faster checkout, please bring your own shopping bags.

On Sunday, February 9 the Bulkley Valley Cross Country Ski Club is hosting a Women's Clinic at the Bv Nordic Centre. It is a great opportunity for women of all skill levels to improve their classic and/or skate skiing. Register at McBike & Sport by February 5.
