This year, we'll be purchasing almost 400 metric tons of cocoa through the Fairtrade Sourced Ingredient Program. Why? Because our friends @fairtrademarkus and @fairtradecanada support our journey towards greater sustainability and transparency. Wasted vegetable guilt is real, and creeps over you as you discover a soft zucchini or a caved-in avocado that was left to die alone at the back of the fridge. To add insult to injury, wasted food breaks down to form methane, a greenhouse gas that contributes to climate change. We’re sharing eight easy and feel-good ways you can proudly let your produce fulfill their life’s purpose, minimize your environmental impact, and make full use of your veggie haul: https://www.naturespath.com//8-ways-to-save-your-vegetabl/ #alwaysorganic #wastefree #wastefreeliving #climatechange #cleanliving

In Friends of the Earth’s report, Top 10 Truths About Organic, research shows that eating organic food reduces the amount of pesticides in your body. In fact, switching to an organic diet immediately bring down your exposure to harmful pesticides linked to negative health effects such as infertility, neurological problems, and cancer. Organic farmers are able to grow food without the use of an estimated 17,000 pesticide products allowed in chemical farming. Instead, they use ecological methods to build healthy soil and support biodiversity, such as planting cover crops and crop rotation. Organic food means health, for both people and the planet. Plant-based protein is not only a sustainable way to get this macronutrient in, it’s also heart-healthy, inexpensive, and delicious. We asked some of our vegan team members their favorite sources of plant-based protein, and the list is endless! These six foods came out on top: Tofu: 8g per 3oz. Beans: 5g per 1/2 chip Lentils: 9g per 1/2 cup... Chickpeas: 7g per 1/2cup Peanut Butter: 3.5g per 1 Tbsp Pumpkin Seeds: 6g per 1/2 cup As always, we recommend always choosing organic for the tastiest, most wholesome food. We’ll share more from the list over the next weeks. In the meantime, tell us: what are your favorite sources of plant-based protein?
The countless food claims and choices can be very overwhelming. But at the risk of sounding overly simplistic, I want to convince you that the single most important food criterion is whether it’s organic.
