Although all on-site bingo sessions have been suspended until further notice due to the government restrictions, Superior Shores weekly curbside bingo continues! Our sponsorship of the Fort William Sea Cadets have allowed many opportunities for their participation in various events, competitions and excursions over the years. Being able to support our cadets has led to many great memories and positive life experiences for them and we couldn't have done it without strong loca...l community support including from organizations such as Superior Shores Gaming Association! Although things continue to be different this year, limiting both cadet activities and our branch's ability to fundraise, the continuation of funds provided by Superior Shores Gaming Association ensures that we will be able to provide for all current needs and continue our cadets involvement in in-person events and competitions once the pandemic is behind us. Navy League Lakehead Branch is a proud member of Superior Shores Gaming Association. We miss being able to help out at Charity Bingos because of government restrictions due to the pandemic, but Superior Shores continues to provide us and 81 other local charities with financial support. That means that every time you play, you're helping us support the Fort William Sea Cadets!

As we continue to work to help restart the Fort William Sea Cadet program we must also continue to find ways to raise funds to support the program during these challenging times. With the pandemic forcing us to cancel: our annual spring fundraising event and raffle, our monthly participation in the Superior Shores Community Bingo program and the annual cadet tag days and direct sales fundraising campaigns, we are asking our community to consider supporting our cadets by dire...ct donation. The Navy League has partnered with Micharity fundraising platform to accept donations here - https://donate.micharity.com/navy-league-of-canad//donate Thank you in advance for aiding our efforts to support the Fort William Sea Cadets

The Canadian cadet program has been suspended through August 31st, 2020 due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. We will use this time to work remotely with the Fort William Sea Cadets Corps officers and staff to ensure they have the support to come back strong and ready to resume this awesome youth leadership program in September.

Attention senior cadets considering career options post high school. Shawn Murley mentioned in this article is a past cadet with RCSCC Sackville and a past sail Instructor at HMCS Acadia. The faculty at NSCC also has a few former cadets and a few presently serving CIC.

Please help support this great program which provides cadet experience for 9-11 year olds before they join the Cadets Canada program starting at age 12. Unlike the shared cost agreement between civilian support leagues and the Canadian government for Sea, Air and Army Cadets, Navy League Cadet Corps are 100% locally funded and in part through fundraising events such as this.
