Note: It is important to remember to only engage within the realm of your own personal safety. DO NOT put your own safety at risk. Listen to and believe them when they tell you. Too often victims are not believed when they disclose their abuse. As put by the Department of Social Justice, The objective of this grant is to promote evidence-based prevention and intervention initiatives at the provincial, municipal and local levels that lead to a reduction of gun and gang violence, and related issues. The goal is to develop and/or implement prevention and intervention programs, or other initiatives that address existing, emerging and underlying issues that can lead to gun and gang violence. In September, the NBASW had welcomed two student interns. These two may seem like familiar faces as they have previously held internships with the Association. Lisa is a Post-Degree Bachelor of Social Work student at St. Thomas University. She is currently furthering her research on Masters of Social Work programs to continue the work of operationalizing the new Advanced Practice Registered Social Work category of registration. Lisa has previously developed and will be imple...menting member feedback to the Standards Regarding Telehealth Services, the Use of Technology, and Social Work Practice. Valarie is completing a policy internship with the NBASW for her final placement at St-Thomas University. She is reviewing legislation and different policies for the province of New Brunswick, as well as across the country to compare, contrast, and recommend. She is also reviewing and making recommendations to existing guidelines to ensure their accuracy and up-to-datedness to promote excellence in the profession. Keep up the great work ladies!
