This Sunday the message I am preparing is based on Psalm 91. I love this Psalm and have often contemplated its truth in prayer and worship. It corrects our perspective when fears arise in life by reminding us of the security of taking refuge in God. While the answer provided in this Psalm is to abide in the secret place of the Most High, there are questions that may arise from it. How exactly do we abide in God’s secret place? In what way does God protect us from the many ...troubles listed in this Psalm? Can we misuse the truth of this Psalm? Is this Psalm about freedom from trouble, or freedom from fear? Let’s explore these questions together.

-TAKING MATTERS SERIOUSLY - Last Sunday we examined the account in Acts 12 when Peter’s life is in danger and the church was moved to earnest prayer for him. The original Greek word translated earnest is from the verb to be stretched out. The believers were stretched and prayed what is described as serious prayer! God responded to their prayer in a way that Paul encourages us to be ready for; He is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine according to his... power that is at work in us! Ephesians 3:20. Both Peter and the praying church were amazed at what God did! God’s response to their prayer exceeded all they had asked or imagined! Have you experienced times where your faith and prayer life were stretched beyond your normal ability to handle? Have these times resulted in God doing something beyond what you have asked or imagined? How have they developed your faith, character, and spiritual strength? I am praying that God will amaze us again!

A bit of earthy wisdom for you today! (for what it is worth) When you have trouble at a store - kindly ask for the manager. You get more action from someone with some authority! How Much More in the Spirit?! Do you need some action? Do you need a real answer? Go to the top - seek the One who has the power and authority to make changes! God's power is limitless, and love never fails. Your loving, all-powerful Father is waiting for you to come to Him!... Eph 3: 20-21 "Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us, 21 to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, forever and ever! Amen."

Focus... Whatever we look at comes into focus for us and the rest blurs out. This is true of our Spiritual Eyes as well as our physical eyes! If when we pray we focus on our problems, how many and bad they are, our hearts and minds clarify our problems thereby reducing our faith and trust in God. When we pray, if we thank God for His presence through our difficulties, His love, His unchanging grace, and Endless power our spiritual eyes make the Faithfulness of God crysta...l clear to us. FOCUS On God will Increase your Faith! Colossians 3: 1-2 "Since, then, you have been raised with Christ, set your hearts on things above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God. 2 Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things."
