Congratulations to Kerri Roberts, the winner of our 2021 YMCA Strong Kids 50/50!! The grand prize was a whopping $4935, presented here by our own Board Chair, Pat Flack!! Thank you so much to everyone that bought a ticket and supported! YMCA Strong Kids is a fantastic initiative that allows us to provide financial assistance to those who need it most. 1 in 5 children requires financial assistance to participate in YMCA Camps and Programs. Your involvement in our Annual Strong Kids Campaign helps make that possible!

Y Girl is on location at the YMCA of Northern BC to talk to you about our annual Strong Kids Campaign. Here at the Y we believe that health is a right, not a privilege and that nobody should be turned away due to inability to pay. We fundraise all year long to support kids in our community to have the opportunity to access programs that will support their well-being, learning, and development. In fact, 1 in 5 kids in YMCA programs and 1 in 4 campers at YMCA Camp Kanannaq are ...given some sort of financial support or subsidy. This month is our Strong Kids Month- where we invite the community to join us in the important work by donating to YMCA Strong Kids. On March 13th, we are having our largest fundraiser of the year- MEGATHON! This is a whole day dedicated to getting active and raising awareness and money for our Strong Kids Campaign. Each physical active and each $10 donation you raise will count as an entry into our grand prize draw for a Nintendo switch. Because this is a virtual event, you can take part in from anywhere in our regions! Make sure to follow our MEGATHON Facebook event for more information on our Get Active Challenge and other exciting event details! Donations can be made at the Prince George Family Y or on our website at nbc.ymca.ca.
