Bar Preparation Classes for November 2018 Ontario Bar Preparation classes have been planned to be scheduled from 18th (for Solicitor exam) and 19th (for Barrister exam) August, 2018 for Bar-Exams of November 2018. These classes will be in-person as well as through skype, on every Saturday (for Solicitor classes) and every Sunday (for Barrister classes), at 11am to 2pm. I will be offering the following for the preparation; 1. Detailed lectures for each chapter of all subjects.... 2. Important flow charts. 3. Power point presentations. 4. All important timelines. 5. Crash Classes for Constitutional Law (August Exams) I am offering TWO Crash Classes of 3 hrs each on Saturday 21 July, 2018 and Saturday 28 July, 2018 at my office 120 Matheson Blvd East, Mississauga, for the Constitutional Law NCA course. The topics we will be covering during these sessions, would be;... 1. The Charter, with all its main case laws 2. Division of Powers with all Doctrines dealing with classification and characterization of constitutional powers. At the end of the session, we will also discuss and attempt NCA Model Exams Paper. Foundations and Administrative law: JUDICIAL REVIEW DOCTRINAL INCOHERENCE Our administrative law is a never-ending construction site where one crew builds structures and then a later crew tears them down to build anew, seemingly without an overall plan. Roughly,forty years ago, the Supreme Court told us to categorize decisions as judicial, quasi-judicial or administrative. Then, largely comprised of different members, the Court told us to follow a pragmatic and functional ...test. Then, with further changes in its composition, it added another category of review, reasonableness, to join patent unreasonableness and correctness. Then, with more turnover of judges, it told us to follow the principles and methodology in Dunsmuir.Now it appears that we may be on the brink of another revision: as we shall see, the Supreme Court mysteriouslyis often not deciding cases in accordance with the principles in Dunsmuir and other cases decided under it.
