Congratulations to former NDDHS staff member Mr. Prest on his upcoming retirement. He was a great teacher in our Music Department. There is a celebration coming up & they are looking for photos from past music trips, band practices & classes. Please send to email listed below if you can help!
Congratulations to Deanna Corbett-White on her recent retirement from NDDHS. You have positively impacted many students during your time as a teacher, coach and mentor. All the best in the next chapter of your life. See you at the next 60th anniversary reunion in 2023!
Join NDDHS' School Council on Saturday night for a trivia night at the Chesterville Legion!
We hope you had a great Christmas holiday. Here's a #TBT #ThrowBackThursday to the 2005 NDDHS Christmas concert: the debut of the male cheerleaders. This video has received nearly 28,000 YouTube views over the years and has since become a nearly annual tradition at the concert. Merry Christmas and all the best for 2019 to all NDDHS alumni!
Congrats to long-serving custodian Donnie Helmer, who has retired after 45 years of employment at NDDHS. Many staff dressed up as "Donnie" for Halloween yesterday and students joined them too in wishing him well. Thank you Donnie and all the best for a happy, healthy retirement!
You can never start to think about the next NDDHS Reunion too soon. We're halfway between the next big reunion: NDDHS 60th Anniversary coming in 2023. Stay tuned!
Ready for a good news story? Watch this video and see where our NDDHS50 Reunion funds went! Good things happen when people work together. SHARE THE SPIRIT. SHARE THIS VIDEO. Earlier this month, a team of volunteers gave North Dundas District High School - UCDSB a makeover that took students completely by surprise and left everyone inspired.... To the volunteers and sponsors who made this possible: THANK YOU.
We are proud to announce that with your support, the NDDHS50 Reunion raised $20,000 for school improvement projects at NDDHS. Thanks again to everyone for their support. We will see you in 2023 for the 60th Anniversary Reunion!
Here are some pictures from the big weekend! Thanks again to everyone for their help!
What a party! THANK YOU to everyone who came out to NDDHS50 this weekend. Our Committee has heard such positive feedback about the event. We are very proud that we were able to see over 1,000 alumni last night for the big dinner and dance. After many hours of work, it made it all worth it to see everyone having a great time. Once again, THANK YOU!
What an AMAZING opening night of NDDHS50 at the school. We had nearly 400 people attend, and we heard lots of positive feedback. Don't forget that the memory rooms are open from 11am-3pm Saturday at the school, and tickets for the dance are available at the door for $15. You don't want to miss out!
Just a friendly reminder that pre-registrations are due Thursday at 12 noon. Sign up at www.nddhs50.ca to guarantee a spot. We are just under 700 confirmed attendees now!
The registrations are coming in quickly. Just under 650 now! We have someone from Naples, Florida now too! We look forward to welcoming John Millard (Class of 80) to NDDHS on Friday night!
We hit a huge milestone tonight! Thanks to Stephen Molloy (Class of 1985) from Winnipeg for registering. Now we have alumni coming from all 10 Canadian provinces. In addition: Scotland, England, Texas, Michigan, New York, and Maryland. Now, let's sign up ASAP and grow the list!
The memory rooms and boards are coming together great. Volunteers have been working non-stop for the past couple of weeks to set it all up. We have an estimated 3,000 pieces of memorabilia, news clippings, pictures, school clothing, yearbooks, and more. It's going to be great!
Please do us a HUGE favour and share this status to let alumni know that you can register online (or by paper) at www.nddhs50.ca by Thursday, June 27th at 12 noon. 600 people confirmed and growing! Call an old friend and get them to sign up ASAP! We are almost a week away!
Wow, the momentum and talk (and registrations) have really picked up in the last couple of days for sure! We now have confirmation that 5 NDDHS Principals (Don McGahan, Don Fairweather, Brenda Whitteker, Geoff Trasuk & Debbie Banks) will be attending the Reunion. Former VP Carl Ward is also on board as well!
We just got confirmation that Steve Henderson, Mike Deighton, and Brad Holland will be attending the Reunion! Here are the guys as the "Trailer Park Boys" from a NDDHS Halloween a few years back. The dance is going to be a blast with these guys there!
Thanks to Tom Van Dusen and the Ottawa Sun for a nice historical article about NDDHS and our Co-chairs Patti Milne Hall and Eric Duncan. Great exposure in the Ottawa area (sorry for the poorer quality of scanning)
We just got word today that Greg Prest will be attending the Saturday Band Memory Room at NDDHS! Please share this with your band alumni friends!
Thanks to the UCDSB for helping us with a great article on their website and distribute to local media. The talk continues!
Two weeks from tonight we will be partying away at the Winchester Arena with hundreds and hundreds of NDDHS alumni. Have you sent an email or made a call to an old friend to encourage them to attend?
We've added yet another feature to make the Reunion even better. The NDDHS Chapter of OSAID (Ont. Students Against Impaired Driving) have donated funds to pay for two FREE shuttle buses to get people to the Arena on Saturday night. Visit www.nddhs50.ca/shuttle for more info!
We've launched an "In Memoriam" wall for the Reunion weekend to remember student and staff alumni who are no longer with us. Whether they graduated, or only attended for a period of time, please visit www.nddhs50.ca/inmemoriam/ for info on how to make a submission and remember their life.
The early bird prices have been extended to keep momentum going: 500 registrations and growing. There are still a lot of people who are looking at the list (http://nddhs50.eventbrite.com), at the bottom of the page, and waiting until a few more of their classmates sign up. Too many people are waiting- so break the impasse and sign up. We can't stress how helpful it is for people to make their minds up to come. So let's help out!
We are dedicated to the cause! Committee Members Trish Wouters and Eric Duncan installed our NDDHS50 banner in Russell tonight to help spread the word. Rain or shine, we keep working to let more people know about the Reunion!
We have just updated our paper registration form for anyone who doesn't like to register online. Please print and share with anyone who doesn't have a computer. We are making it really easy to register for anyone!
Thanks to Stuart Goodall for this picture of the 1986 Tri-County Band. Start tagging away!
The Russell Villager is helping us spread the word to Russell area NDDHS alumni. Can you take a moment and help out too? Look up an old classmate or two on Facebook and send them a message about the Reunion. Word continues to spread!
Special thanks to the children of Norm St. Louis for their wonderful donation of items for our NDDHS Band memory room taking place during the Saturday Memory Rooms and school tours. Norm passed away earlier this year, but with many of the old records, band programs, newspaper clippings, VHS tapes, and his conductor's baton, he will be there in spirit!
We set a one-day record for sales yesterday. 30 new registrations yesterday alone! Let's hope today breaks another record!
There are only a couple days left until our early bird deadline on Wednesday (June 5th) at www.nddhs50.ca. All the details are there for the various registration options. Please help us out in two ways: let's get 50 "shares'' of this status to spread the word. Second, send an email or make a call or two to a former classmate and let them know about the Reunion and encourage them to register. Word of mouth and encouragement is key to our success!
BIG THANKS to the Winchester Press for their FRONT PAGE STORY on NDDHS50! That will help spread the word about our June 5th early bird cut-off!
The Local Seeker also gave us some great coverage: check it out! Lots of people are talking!
Thanks to TheCornwallDaily.com for posting our update about NDDHS50 and promoting our early bird deadline of June 5th!
