News from your YMCA! Following the recent announcements issued by Public Health to postpone reopening fitness centres to November 23rd, we wanted to inform you about our intentions for the coming months. In the days following the government's decision allowing us to reopen our centres, we will be launching a new membership reactivation campaign to determine if enough members are interested in resuming their training at the center and consequently allow us to set a possible da...te to reopen. Enough members need to be interested in returning to the centre, otherwise we will be unable to cover the costs of reopening given our financial situation, which has been significantly affected by this pandemic. Reopening with too few members interested in reactivating their membership would jeopardize not only the future of the Notre-Dame-de-Grâce YMCA, but also the entire association. You will be receiving all the details regarding the reactivation campaign by email in the days following the government's decision. Until then, take care of yourself and your loved ones.

Public Assembly on Tuesday, December 15, at 6pm Following our Special General Meeting yesterday and the ratification of the sale of the vacant lot adjacent to the centre to the City of Montreal, we wish to invite you to a public assembly specifically planned for the NDG community on Tuesday, December 15, at 6pm. We would like to introduce you to the project manager in charge of the development of the NDG YMCA, the ongoing projects as well as the next steps of the redeve...lopment project which aims to ensure the sustainability of the YMCA in Notre-Dame-de-Grâce. We also wish to give you the opportunity to share your comments and questions at this meeting. Due to the pandemic, this assembly will be virtual and will take place on Zoom. The meeting agenda and the link to connect to it will be communicated via email and on our social media within the next week. We hope to see many of you there!

So happy we can now share this with our community. Thanks to this transaction with the City, we will be capable of maintaining our social impact in this neighbourhood, where we have been active for nearly a century.

Like you, we hope that the pandemic will soon allow us to return to a certain normality. We are waiting to hear from the government on when our fitness facilities will be allowed to resume their activities and what safety measures will have to be implemented. We understand that many of our members are concerned about the delays in reopening the NDG Y. We want to reassure you of our intentions: not only do we want to remain active on our current site, but we are currently cont...inuing our action through programs to help our community get through the crisis, and we hope to be able to resume physical activity soon. Our team is already working on preparing a major reactivation campaign, which, in combination with government instructions, will be essential in defining the terms of reopening.
