Despite COVID19, the climate crisis remains a threat and doing nothing will make things worse. Starting with Jack Layton in 2007, the NDP trailblazed the fight ...for climate accountability. But, Jack wouldn’t want us to wait 10 years for real accountability. There are no targets for 10 years. So, I’ll be pushing the Liberals government to ensure accountability begins sooner. There must be also investments in: good jobs retrofit homes & buildings transit clean electricity Jack’s legacy must be a plan that creates good jobs and a cleaner future.

Today, there was a heartbreaking view on Parliament Hill. The shoes behind me symbolize Covid-19 deaths in long-term care homes. Profit-driven care is dangerous... and it costs lives. Liberals can and must remove the profit from long-term care, so that we can save our loved one. Join me in calling for immediate action: NDP.ca/care

1 in 5 Canadians aren't taking their medication because they can’t afford to pay for it. The Liberals have been promising pharmacare for 23 years. Join Jagmeet ...Singh in calling on Justin Trudeau to deliver universal pharmacare to Canadians now. TAKE ACTION: Medicine for all. Tell Justin Trudeau and the Liberals that every Canadian should have access to the medicines they need. Fr: https://www.npd.ca/loi-assurance-medicaments En: https://www.ndp.ca/pharmacare-act

Good news. The NDP, Bloc, and Greens have come together to oppose the Liberal plans for Small [Nuclear] Modular Reactors (SMRs). "The vast majority of parliamentarians have no idea that their government is thinking of investing substantial amounts of taxpayer’s money in a variety of unproven nuclear reactor technologies that will not see the light of day for a decade or more, if ever, rather than using government incentives to promote the deployment of tried and true alter...natives such as energy efficiency and renewable energy sources. These alternatives are known to be cost effective, provide immediate benefits, release no greenhouse gasses, and create far more jobs than speculative nuclear projects. Cheers, Gordon Edwards -----------------------------"
