Thank you to Future Majority for their tireless work in unifying Millennial and Gen Z voters and engaging politicians in order to prioritize mental health. This is something very close to my heart and I know I’m not alone in that. We will keep pushing until universal mental health care is the reality and is accessible to all. https://www.durhamradionews.com/archives/137776

For those that have not yet seen this new development, a proclamation was issued today in response to our advocacy to ensure that #Oshawa stands in solidarity and actively supports the call for May 10th to be a National Day of Action Against Anti-Asian Racism. Thank you to everyone that reached out, reshared, and demanded better from and for our city. This is one instance where accountability endured for and by the people triumphed, and it must not be the last, for any leve...l of government. We stand in solidarity with our Asian neighbours and residents now and always.
A disgrace. @cityofoshawa snapd Oshawa your request is not for an event or organization with a direct connection to the City of Oshawa A request to join 100s of municipalities in calling for a national day against #AntiAsianRacism has no connection? Are there no Asians in Oshawa? Huh?... Was our community Diversity Equity, and Inclusion Committee consulted? Was Monica Kendal, the City’s Diversity & Inclusion Officer consulted? Were any Asian residents consulted or considered? Did anyone forward this to our council to perhaps be voted on? #Oshawa is better than this. It’s our job to hold our city staff and elected officials to account. If we won’t condemn oppression and racism in any form then we fail to dismantle oppression in every form.
Although Remembrance Day looks different this year, we still pause to rememeber those who made the ultimate sacrifice. We remember those sent to fight wars in foreign lands, leaving families and their lives behind so we could be here today. I think of my grandfathers and my father, veterans in different times, but incredibly selfless, good people. We also must remember those that returned and continue to return, and we must demand better for them. Raising funds with poppy sa...les once a year is less than what these selfless heroes deserve; they deserve good benefits, safe housing, pensions, healthcare, and mental health support, to name a few. In our memory and reflections of those we have lost we cannot forget the ways in which we have failed those who are here today. This Remembrance Day, I ask you to commit to advocating for our veterans all year round, and thinking of them when decisions about universal services in Canada are being made. They’re worth it today and the other 364 days of the year. Lest we forget.
Can we PLEASE be equitable? For goodness sakes.
What a huge win for #Oshawa, Unifor and all of the tireless advocates and members who made this possible. I’m so incredibly proud of you all. Gosh, I’m SO proud. What amazing news amid so much uncertainty and negativity. You deserve this win and more. Never let them tell you unions and protest don’t work.... Also want to shoutout Green Jobs Oshawa for all of their proactive work and advocacy in reimagining Oshawa’s manufacturing future and nationalization of the plant. Celebrate yourselves today, friends. https://www.cp24.com//1-3b-deal-will-return-vehicle-produc
Sharing some positivity today.
The Liberals wanted to cut help for people relying on CERB by $400, we fought back and got them to reverse their cut. When we convinced them to make sick days available, they made them too hard to get, we fought back. Now millions of people won’t be forced to go to work sick.
