Heartfelt thanks to the amazing staff at Near North Labs for willingly adapting to changes due to COVID19. They've been split into two shifts, sometimes working from home and sometimes coming into the lab during evenings and weekends to ensure lab processes continue and to minimize contact with each other. Big thanks to Sue Whitehead and co who made us cloth masks very early on, to Louis Joseph for donating fabric head bands to hold the masks, and to Pat O'Kane for making a...nd installing the beautiful and functional plexiglass shield on our reception desk on March 22nd. Special thanks to our clients who have adapted to using the sample cart outside and only coming into the lab if necessary. And grateful thanks to our industry partners, suppliers, couriers, and finance agents who have continued to support the lab in so many ways by doing what they do and providing relevant information. The day I started taping up COVID19 signs was the day I started looking forward to taking them down. While that's a ways away, and today is the life we are living, there are still many reasons to count our blessings. Wishing the best to all of the businesses that are opening, preparing to open, or hoping to open soon. Stay encouraged and keep putting one foot ahead of the other. Near North Labs is open and continuing to process samples during regular business hours Mon-Fri 8:30 am - 5:00 pm. A number of people have called to inquire. Environmental labs across the province continue to test to ensure the integrity of and provide process data for drinking water systems for municipalities and regulated facilities as well as sewage plants. Near North Labs tests drinking water for clients under Ontario regulations 170, 318/319 and 562; wastewater analyses on lagoon and sewage systems; surface water testing for aquaculture farms and lake associations; there are testing packages for private home owner water supplies; quick priority turn around for the potability test for real estate agents and homeowners in legal and mortgage transactions; field sampling services for surface water and leachate monitoring; air quality sampling services for mould, indoor comfort parameters and odors/fumes.

Near North Labs has a series of water sample drop-off depots from North Bay to Gravenhurst, over to Seguin Twp and Parry Sound, back through to Sundridge (weekly Tuesdays), and from Trout Creek through Port Loring down to Point Au Baril (first Wed of the month).
