Great news for Mattawa & Bonfield clubs in D11 for having some trails at limited status today. Woot Woot way to go! NBSC trails are not ready yet. We have some... adjoining trails with both these clubs. We ask that you do not ride on our closed portion of the trails. Respect the closures & the private landowners which many of our trails are on. Groomers are out but having to deal with swamps & water that hasn’t frozen up yet. It’s coming , just not yet. Please refer to ITG before you ride & latest trail statuses. https://ofsc.evtrails.com/#

Flex Trails is based on the current public health unit recommendations for your area -- it will determine where you can ride and whether or not you can ride within your area or adjoining areas, said Ontario Federation of Snowmobile Clubs president Murray Baker. Even though the north is heading into a 14-day lockdown starting Dec. 26, snowmobiling trails will be open, weather permitting. The idea is just to encourage people to stay in their unit, and ride there and respect ...the wishes, said Baker. We know the importance of getting outside, mental health, (and) snowmobiling is one of those things. So we are doing what we can to make sure we have a place to ride that’s safe. Officials are encouraging riders to not make any stops while on trails, and to travel in small groups. They’re also reminding people that restaurants and washrooms may not be open, so plan ahead. https://northernontario.ctvnews.ca/video

Happy to announce we have some trails open with limited availability in the Bonfield and Mattawa areas of District 11! Please check the Interactive Guide before you head out for current trail status. https://ofsc.evtrails.com/#... We urge all riders to follow provincial protocols, which includes limiting travel outside of your public health unit (PHU) for essential purposes only. You will notice feeder trails between PHU's temporarily closed in support of local riding. Please do your part to stop the spread of COVID-19!

D11 Volunteers have been busy working on infrastructure projects this fall. A big shout out to the club volunteers of the West Nipissing Snowmobile Club for their work on the rebuild of this bridge on the D103 North of Hwy 17 in Verner! Thank you to private landowner Gaetan Robert for continued trail access.... Thank you to Sturgeon Brush for supplying materials at a discount. Thank you to Signature Construction for the donation of equipment. Volunteers are the backbone of our organization. Organized snowmobiling in Ontario wouldn't be possible without the sharing of their time and talents, please join us in recognizing the hard work and dedication of our volunteers that allows the trail system to be sustained year after year. Interested in volunteering with your local club? Send an email to [email protected] to get more information. #westnipissingsnowmobile #nnta #district11 #volunteer #supportlocal
