NEES Consulting 13.02.2022

One of the activities we have throughout the year here at NEES Consulting is our Annual Year End Staff Meeting, which also includes our Gift Exchange, a Secret Santa and a Potluck! It's quickly becoming one of our favourite days of the year. Our Annual Meeting for 2017 was yesterday, and there were many laughs had by all as well as a little too much food consumed. Also - we held the judging for our Succulent Bowls that we had made at our 2016 Christmas Party. The Winners were...: Green Thumb: Charlie Wong Brown Thumb: Sarah Pratt Fan Favourite: Daryl Smith ( ...we all know it was her husband that was behind her win!!) We believe that a workplace is not just a place where you spend your hours working, but a place where you are welcomed and cared about, and a place where you enjoy spending your time. We also believe that this is why we have such an amazing and talented group of Electrical Designers! See more

This week, IEEE Canada held the Electrical Power and Energy Conference (EPEC) in Saskatoon at the Delta Bessborough Hotel. Three of our young engineers attended all four days of the events, including Industry Sessions, Technical Presentations and Tutorials. By all accounts, it was a great experience, and our engineers enjoyed it all. #IEEE #Saskatoon #Power #Energy #EPEC2017 #SmartGrids #MicroGrids #Renewables #PowerSystems #IEEECanada #IEEENorthSK

A few of our engineers attended the IEEE Women in Engineering Drive Creativity and Innovation in Engineering: Bring Diversity & Inclusion Into Action Forum last night at the Bessborough, as part of EPEC 2017. This was a forum discussing the importance of diversity and inclusion in the work place, and how that leads to ideas and innovation that you might not get with a workforce of all similar people. An important take-away seemed to be a simple idea, that people just want to be treated as equals. Also discussed was the importance for engineers to be the ambassadors of their careers, and to talk to our youth about the great career and work/life balance that engineering can give you. #EPEC2017 #IEEEWIE #APEGS #30BY30 #diversityandinclusion
