Yesterday, the Government of Alberta announced new public health measures. Starting May 7, Kindergarten to Grade 6 students will move to at-home learning. K12 ...students will learn at home until May 21. Due to a teachers’ day in lieu and a non-instructional day, in-person learning will resume on May 27. Yesterday, YourAlberta (Government of Alberta) announced that starting May 3, Grades 712 students in Edmonton will shift to online learning as part of new, tar...geted regional health measures. Grades 712 students in our Division shifted to online learning on April 22 and this news means that we have an anticipated return to in-person learning on May 17 instead of May 6 as originally planned. This means it’s possible that students won’t hear from their online teacher until the first day of Quarter 3 on Feb. 2. Did you know, our maintenance employees delivered 20,000 litres of disinfectant to schools, changed 30,000 air filters and completed 1,200 computer network upgr...ades during the COVID-19 pandemic? Their everyday duties are instrumental to the way our schools and buildings operate, especially this year. Today we’re celebrating Maintenance Employees’ Appreciation Day. Thank you to staff and CUPE Local 784 for keeping our working and learning environments safe and secure.

Last month, the province announced new public health measures to slow the spread of COVID-19. These measures include a week of at-home learning for K-12 student...s after winter break from Jan. 4 to 8. If you have a child in Kindergarten to Grade 6, your school will provide more information about how students will learn during the week of at-home learning. Online students and students in Grades 7 to 12 will continue with their online learning routine established before winter break. Students in need of specialized supports who were learning in person before the break can continue to do so from Jan. 4 to 8.

Dear parents and guardians, We have received poppy pins and stickers from the Edmonton Poppy Fund. We have decided to give each student one but cannot accept cash donations. If you would like to help support our veterans and the family members that rely on them, you are welcome to donate online at www.poppyboxabnwt.com or via your phone (see information attached). These donations are used to help veterans and their families with items such as food or rent. Any amount is greatly appreciated.
