Wishing everyone a Happy New Year, here is hoping 2021 is spectacular. We have a few things in the works to hopefully make 2021 a good one. Just a reminder, it is that time of year to be renewing your HCBC membership and 2021 NDRC Club Membership to use the grounds. The money we get from membership fees goes to keeping the grounds maintained and to put towards events. The form is found here https://nelsonridingclub.com///01/2020-Membership-form.pdf and you can e-transfe...r [email protected] if that is more convenient (but please don't forget to send the form in too)! We will be hosting our monthly meeting this Thursday @ 7PM on Zoom, please check out the Facebook Event for more details. We are hoping to have our AGM via Zoom in February so if you are interested in helping out, joining our board of directors, or just staying in-tune to the happenings at the club, please keep it on your radar! Reminder we currently have our open survey here https://forms.gle/NJ9pU9Ad6QrbPjGA9. It only takes about five minutes to complete and will help to shape the three to five year goals! We will review the responses at the AGM. Cheers, Holly
On behalf of the Nelson and District Riding Club I wanted to wish everyone a Happy Holidays. I wanted to send a newsletter out to our members and community to let everyone know what is going on at the NDRC. 2020 has been a very different kind of year, however I am still amazed with how the year shaped up, and the things we were able to accomplish. Although we cannot host one of our favourite events, A Country Christmas, we want to wish everyone in our community a Merry Chris...tmas and hope you are able to have a festive holiday. Looking back at our three to five year goal list from the 2019 AGM and our survey results from 2018, I wanted to let everyone know the things that have been accomplished or updated during that time. Here are some of the highlights: - Improved the footing in the main arena - Hosted Gymkhana/Fun-day - Hosted BBQ & Obstacle Challenge for Members - Hosted Mountain Trail Clinic for Members - Completed our Grant Project on Updating the Concession! - Added culvert and filled in hole by the dressage arena Did you know that because of our member survey in 2018, we have changed our lesson policy? If you are an instructor with an approved GUA on file with proof of insurance, we offer $5.00 rate per hour to use the grounds for lessons. We have started another Survey ahead of the 2021 AGM in order to help update and re-shape our three to five year plan again! Please fill it out at your convenience - it should take about five to ten minutes and we value your ideas. NDRC Winter 2020 Survey: https://docs.google.com//1FAIpQLSdDgGMlJoCbP0bUZ/viewform We plan on hosting our AGM a bit later this year around February, and it will likely be via Zoom. Please stay tuned for details surrounding that, and if you would like to have an active role on the board of directors, nominations will take place at that time and we would love to have you! Feel free to reach out to [email protected] if you have any questions or comments. Best wishes and Happy Holidays, Holly Cammidge President - NDRC
Missing Country Christmas this year
Teck's contractor Kodiak Tree Service will be treating some of the danger trees at the club this upcoming week. We are packed up for the winter, but please avoid using the trails. ~Holly
Just wanted to post a huge thank you to Jacquie Doucet-Howes and everyone who participated in the Intro to Mountain Trail Clinic. Was a great day with lots of great moments with our horses, and we really lucked out with the weather! Unfortunately I didn’t snap any photos as I was too busy enjoying the day - whoops! Thanks to everyone that made this event possible!... Holly

Just a reminder after some of the recent lightning activity and fire danger - the NDRC is available for horses during evacuations. If anyone needs horses hauled we can put out calls for trucks/trailers. Feel free to reach out. Stay safe everyone!
If any folks would like to volunteer and join us for an NDRC version of a "Paint and Sip" a few of us will be meeting at the grounds Sunday around 6PM to do some trim/touch ups around the concession. I will have hand sanitizer to keep things tidy, and the paint and brushes are ready to go. Cheers! Holly
Hey everyone, Just wanted to say a late summer hello from the Nelson and District Riding Club. Summer is in full swing and we are now in Phase-2 of our COVID rules. You can find the updated rules on our website https://nelsonridingclub.com/?page_id=5582 however the main takeaways are similar to Phase-1. Practice social distancing, do not visit if you are unwell, members-only, and limit contact. We are now offering camping by request, with some additional guidelines in pla...ce that will need to be followed. GUAs are still being accepted (COVID protocols for your event would need to be submitted aswell). We are still working on a fall members event in a smaller capacity then previous years, please stay tuned for more information soon! Take care and enjoy the weather :) Holly
Huge thank you to those who came to the grounds today to help with some grounds maintenance. It’s looking real good!
Always something to do!
