BC government announced their 2018-19 budget today, with significant implications to those in the real estate investment market. Some highlighted measures include increase of foreign buyer's tax from 15% to 20%, expansion of the area in which the foreign buyer's tax will apply, vacancy tax of 2% of the property's market value, and required disclosure of beneficial ownership. http://bcbudget.gov.bc.ca/2018/default.htm
