Due to extremely cold temperatures with the current arctic surge Whitewater Ski Resort will be CLOSED on Thursday, February 11, 2021. Extreme temperatures coup...led with gusty winds present various safety hazards for guests and staff. These forecasted conditions present severe hazards to our staff, and guests if an injury was to occur,, or in the event that a chairlift is needed to be evacuated. The expected high winds and below-average extreme cold temperatures increase the likelihood of chairlift issues, thus increasing the risk of an event that would require a chair evacuation. We appreciate everyone’s understanding as this is a hard decision to make. We will be re-evaluating the lift and resort operations plan for Friday, February 12 as we monitor the forecast and will update everyone daily as this arctic surge moves through the area.
