Nemecek Custom Building

This small, 2-bedroom home was tired, cramped, with a really awkward floorplan. It was also the new home-owner's childhood home. Moving back home, the empty-nesters wanted a fresh new look, with more space. The resulting solution was an addition to house a Master Suite, and a complete re-working of the floorplan, including relocating the entries. We think it turned out pretty well!!

A newly retired couple loved their new home, but felt cut off from the lovely, tree-lined, prairie river which wraps the property. A low dike protects the house from occasional flooding, but further separated the house from the river. As well, adding another roof-line into a corner of the house was a problem. There seemed to be no obvious way to add the sunroom and pool deck that they hoped for, but an innovative angled sunroom, and decks which straddle the dike, gave them just what they wanted. Now the spacious, new sunroom opens onto a BBQ station, a dining deck, and the above-ground pool. It also lets them easily wander down to the river's edge for an evening stroll.
