Employee onboarding matters. We'll say it again employee-onboarding-matters. No one wants a house with a creeking foundation. That's essentially what an improperly onboarded employee is. More than just setting the course of your new hire's work culture -which is very important- proper onboarding boosts your employee's confident in your skill as a leader/manager/business owner. This can not be stressed enough. Up to 30% of new hires quit in the first few weeks and poor onboa...rding contributes significantly to this. #smallbusinessyyc #smallbusinessadvocate #hrmatters #hrsolutions #hroutsourcing #localbusinessyyc #employeemotivation #localbusinessalberta #engagethemind So what makes a good employee onboarding program? 1. Information and communication - At this point you must have discussed the job description in abstract terms. Now is time for details, clear communication about the job specifics. What that looks like depends on a number of factors we can discuss doing a consultation session 2. Training - This is probably a no-brainer yet, training can easily go awry. The medium of training needs to match the purpose. Training needs to be engaging and have a good evaluation component. Also, and just as important, your new employee needs to know that this training is relevant to their new role and not just a module the complete to check off the list (recall #1point) As always, more tips available on the blog. #checkoutthelinkinmybio
