Wisdom from @islagracesleep I think we all need this reminder, OFTEN! It is not our job to stop our children from crying... Children heal their own hurts when they have the safety provided by adults who are willing to listen to their feelings... Children feel more connected to us when we listen to their feelings without interrupting, giving advice, or trying to fix it. Listening to children’s feelings builds connection and strengthens the bond... Research on human tears show...s that the tears we cry of emotion contain stress hormones. tears release pain and stress. Other ways we release emotional hurts and stress are screaming, raging, talking repeatedly about the hurt, shaking, laughing, perspiring and yawning. Without this information, parents don’t know what to do when a child cries or rages. If our attempts to comfort or fix the problem don’t stop the crying, we become frustrated and even angry with the child. Children need adults to stay with them and support them while they release their pain instead of stopping them from crying. Interrupting the crying interferes with the natural healing process. Pam Leo, Connection Parenting. I know that tears are hard to support, I know that often times we mamas want to jump into the fixer role and stop them, but that is NOT what we should be doing. We often do this because the tears make US uncomfortable. Children then learn that sadness and frustration make mommy uncomfortable, and that they are not ok. Absolutely love talking about emotion! if your love this quote as much as I do! Photography by @love.little.sampsons See more

I know so many moms struggle with toddlers! This makes perfect sense! @feedinglittles It makes sense if you think about it Swipe through to see the hilarious tweet by @punished_picnic that inspired this post, and don’t forget to tag a friend feeding a young eater at home We can laugh about how true this is, but it actually helps us understand our kids’ eating - and maybe our own - a little bit better. You see, fruits and veggies can be unpredictable. You don’t ...get the same texture, flavor or appearance each time when you eat fresh produce like you do with crackers, veggie straws, goldfish or puffs. It’s inconsistent, and for a reluctant eaterit’s a risk. You don’t know what you’re getting yourself into. Your blueberry might have the perfect texture and flavoror it could be sour, overripe and disgusting It’s no wonder kids can become hesitant to eat produce. Of course, this is just one of the reasons kids can struggle to eat their veggies and fruits, but we hope it helps you understand where they’re coming from. They’re not trying to be difficult - they’re struggling and still learning. It takes time. 1) If you have a crunch lover, check out our blog post entitled Why do kids love crunchy foods? {Link in bio.} We offer specific tips to help you successfully introduce more textures. 2) Don’t stop serving veggies and fruits, but stick to a teeny tiny amount on the tray or plate. One or two blueberries is a great place to start if they’re reluctant to try them. 3) Try to weed out any produce that might be overripe, bruised or mushy like you would do for yourself. These make great smoothie ingredients. Need more help feeding your kiddo? Head to feedinglittles.com See more

Toddlers are so fun, am I right?! They are full of passion, determination, energy, emotions and love. All of this development, independence is exciting, exhausting and overwhelming, usually for everyone! This program is not a virtual course, it is an interactive and supportive group that will help you and your family reach your goals. Groups will consist of a maximum 5 families to ensure everyone receives the support they need.... https://nesttogethersleepco.com//toddler-group-sleep-supp/
