Self-Care and Technology -- Tips and Takeaways for Wonder-Humans: http://bit.ly/2ZycOkp An immigrant settler from the Netherlands, Suzanne Nievaart is a writer, tutor, facilitator, and activist based on the original, unceded and traditional land of the Swenghwung, currently known as the Songhees Nation, of the Lekwungen-speaking peoples. For five years, Suzanne worked and volunteered in the local NGO and social enterprise se...ctor in Victoria, in operational and program management positions with four small organizations, focused mainly on research and leadership training programs, and social innovation. Since April 2018, she is working in anti-racism training in the government sector. Suzanne has a background in both the social sciences and the arts, with over 20 years of experience in the performing and visual arts, and over ten years of experience in research, writing, and visual documentation in collaboration with NGOs, Indigenous communities and community-based organizations in Chile, India, the Netherlands, and Canada. She is a mother of an 8-year-old boy. Suzanne’s personal work has been an interest for the past 20 years through a variety of programs including Nonviolent Communication, the Artist’s Way, Vipasanna meditation, 12-step programs, yoga and the Inner Activist, and has made personal growth and racial identity development a priority in the past six years.
