Nothing like a late Friday evening makeover for a house refresh. Repainted my "welcome" sign, hung new exterior lights with LED dusk to dawn Edison bulbs, placed a new welcome rug. Little things can make such a difference. I actually wired one light fixture myself before my dad came to my rescue...something I've never done before if I can wire a light fixture, anyone can. Next up is plants...... What have you done to refresh your exterior for summer? Ex. Planters, fresh paint, new fixtures, wreaths, signs, rugs, patio sets, etc. etc. Feel free to share photos in the comments. It often helps to inspire each other by seeing what someone else has done. In order to keep things fresh, I have to redesign my products. These three sympathy cards just got a makeover. I'm so happy I took the time to redesign these cards. The sayings are beautiful and the watercolour landscapes bring it all together in a beautiful way. May is Mental Health Awareness Month. I shared this on my personal account and thought I'd share it here too. I try to post something during this time. I believe that being open, honest and vulnerable about mental health, helps make it more relatable, less scary and maybe lessens the stigma a bit. *This is written with a raw honesty that might trigger someone. ... I’ve never personally dealt with depression myself until I found myself in a mental health crisis. They used to call this a nervous breakdown. Since then I’ve been on a journey of seeking medical help, healing and practicing patience with myself. It’s been a long hard road to recovering and finding a new normal. I don’t think I’ll ever be back to my old self, but I’m becoming a better and healthier me. It doesn’t seem to matter what your lot in life is, everyone is affected by mental health in some way or other. Whether it’s you or a friend or family member. The stigma surrounding mental illness seems to run through all races and denominations. I think it’s the unknown and not understanding which causes this. There’s so many things that we don’t learn as humans when it comes to mental health. I had so much to learn. The extreme physical pain. Days and weeks of not being able to get out of bed due to the pain. Finally having the strength to get out of bed to take a shower, but then being completely shot afterward. Extreme mental anguish and pain. Pain with no end in sight. Pain from light, noise, movement, etc. Memory loss. Loss of colour. For me it took a long time until I saw in colour again. Absence of feeling. Complete numbness. Feeling dead but still living inside a human body. Extreme anxiety. Restlessness and feeling agitated. Not able to handle having others around me. Weeks of feeling like I was literally drowning and fighting with every breath inside of me not to drown. Concentrating on each breath. Just keep breathing. Knowing there’s hope but not feeling it because I didn’t feel anything. I found this beautiful quote the other day and it touched my heart. There’s such comfort in knowing this. Knowing the Author of my life. Trusting Him completely with every fibre in me. "Remember this, had any other condition been better for you than the one in which you are, divine love would have put you there." Spurgeon There’s so much more that I could share. I want to end with reminding whoever is reading this that you’re beautiful. You’re amazing! You’re desperately needed no matter what anyone says. You’re important. You’re loved. You’re so much stronger than you think you are. Be kind to yourself and be patient with yourself. There’s no shortcut on the road to healing. There’s no shame in asking for and accepting help. Somewhere above the clouds the sun is always shining.

I've always love mood boards. It helps so much to get your design ideas all in one place. From there you can narrow your ideas down. Fine tune the details. I've dreamed of creamy buttery yellow cabinets for my house for years but wasn't sure if it was possible. I'm trying to go for a timeless look in my kitchen. Something that will suit a 1950's house for years to come. I'd love your input on this mood board for my kitchen renovation. ... What do you think? Tips, advice, thoughts?
