The Melville Public Library needs your help. We have far too many vacancies on our board. The board is the governing body of the library and without sufficient... members; we cannot conduct the business needed to stay open under the legislation. It is not a huge time commitment, as few as 6 meetings per year and occasional requests for help in special circumstances such as we have experienced during the pandemic when timelines were tight. We do not need you to have previous board experience or to understand how libraries work. We need people willing to commit about 12 hours per year and who may be interested in learning about us and what we provide to our community.
