Bike ride to the beach; Since moving to Kamloops I have been itching to ride the trails of the city and countryside. Thankfully, the weather has been cooperative to enjoy the beach when I arrived at my destination. With a proper mobility warmup, I was able to enjoy the 36km total bike ride without any aches, or pains along the way. ... Whatever your plans are this weekend make sure to warmup before so that you are able to sustain and enjoy your adventure even more! Have a great weekend! Happy riding!

Want to learn how to improve your breathing mechanics and to improve your sense of relaxation everyday? Try this exercise, to see if it can help improve your movement as well. - The diaphragm is a large muscle underneath your lungs. one of its main jobs is to contract and move inferior to allow air into the lungs. Then, when you exhale, it will relax and move superior to expel the air out of lungs. Other jobs the diaphragm has is assisting in expelling feces, urine, preve...nting acid-reflux and is a great aid for childbirth. - For this instructional video you will be focusing on stretching the diaphragm to improve the awareness and accuracy of utilizing this muscle. That is why you need to exhale for a long period, to fully make sure you exhale the air deep at the bottom area of your lungs. - Try this exercises for yourself and see if has made a difference in how you are moving and functioning in your day. You might find that focusing on this exhalation based breathwork drill can bring you more calmness and more energy into your life. - Let me know how it has been working for you in the comments below. - Happy Breathing! :)

Do you have anxiety daily? Do you go through depressive episodes that does not feel like it is getting better? People with anxiety may also have the following chronic issues: -Chronic Pain -Irritable Bowel Syndrome... -Obesity -Eating Disorders -Fibromalagia -PTSD You might want to consider training your respiratory system to assist in resolving these chronic issues. When experiencing a traumatic event, the brain unconsciously go into a "Startled mode." This means that the jaw starts to clench more often and the muscles feel very tense. What is also interesting when feeling anxious is that the bodies breathing rate accelerates. The movement and oxygen (fuel) mainly comes from the chest, not from the belly. Thus, not optimally receiving fuel/energy into the body to endure stressful moments. Not having enough fuel leads to feeling sluggish and tired most of the time. Luckily, training the respiratory system can help increase your daily energy so you can recover from the low days. Enjoy the sunshine this week! There are bright & happy days ahead!

One of the greatest gifts you can do for yourself is to understand that any skill can be trained. Seriously, any skill that you can imagine yourself doing, can improve, if you put the time and effort in it. Professional athletes are people who are amazing at their "craft". You might think they are naturally talented or gifted. But if you think about it, they have put in the time and effort to the point where it seems automatic and effortless to them. Whereas, it is most li...kely they had challenges at the beginning stages of learning the skill. This is due to the process of neuroplasticity. Our brains rewire connections in order to be better at that skill. Whatever your craft is or whatever skill you want to improve in, just make sure it is something that brings you joy in doing. If you haven't discovered that skill that you want to be better yet, that is ok. Browse around and try something new. Or better yet, hire a coach who has the expertise to teach you how to perform the skills. That way, you can continue doing that skill for a lifetime. Want to learn more about the skill of running?
