Cold weather, steaming comfort of tea and Chinese Hot Pot. Perfect for this time of year. Colourful , nutritious, delicious. You can order any mix of ingredients : Various tofus , fish, pork, beef, chicken, vegetables, noodles.... The broth can be vegetarian or meat based, hot spicy or plain ( or both ) . Price will vary depending on ingredients and for how many. Easy way is to set a price per head and let the chef do it. Make requests for favourite items and about any allergies. Hot Pot needs to be ordered two days in advance as it is not on the regular menu as some extra preparations need to be done. Hot Pot makes for a great social festive meal with friends. Another good dish for the spring time is a hot serving of prawns, scallops, squid, Chinese mushroom , baby corn and broccoli all in a very flavourful oyster sauce and ginger. And a platter of simple fried rice with bbq pork. A meal that represents bounty and fertility. The tea is always bountiful to refill your cup here at the New Canton Restaurant.

We celebrate Spring as a time of renewal and blessing with some special dishes that traditional for this time of year. Here we have Egg white and rice flour deep fried nest for scallops and vegetables.

The food at New Canton Chinese New Year is prepared by Chef Jack Xie. A chef trained in Guangzhou at the two best restaurants during his apprenticeship. His food is as authentic as it gets in its cooking and taste.

Great news. We will be opening wednesday at 12:00 noon Dec 18th. Our administrator of this page was misinformed and thought we had closed. This is not the case. Its business as usual tomorrow. Deep fried chicken wings with dipping salt and chili sauce with any vegetable dish and rice and you have a great meal to share or not.

For a variation on beef with noodles and vegetables we serve this with black bean, garlic sauce.

Beef stir fried rice noodles (special order) any dish can be made with a few days notice to celebrate an occasion.

Hong Kong style chow mein is another soul satisfying dish either by itself or with other dishes so you can share the love.

This is an order of extra hot prawns . ( lol, not really )

Feel like some spice in your life? Well, come down to The New Canton and have some szechuan salt and pepper prawns. Jack can make them as hot as you like.

Finished product. Add what ever you like at any time over a leisurely period scoop out when its done ,eat,converse,eat some more, repeat. Simple, social, delicious.
