Our team just finished installing this interesting tiled shower. We teamed with a contractor to do the tile section of this job. They will be getting a full glass enclosure for the shower as well, with a lovely freestanding tub on the other side of the bathroom to have a truly luxurious feeling in the washroom.

Hot tip Tuesday: Accounting for the "Planning Fallacy" What is the planning fallacy? The planning fallacy (PF) is a psychological phenomenon, where people underestimate how long a task will take by approx. 30%. This means when someone asks me how long something will take I will always give a range of time (i,e. 1-2 days, 3-4 hours, etc.). Sometimes people are shocked at the length of time at the high end, but I know we need to stay firm with that prediction. Our schedu...les and quotes are usually very close to what they had started at ( unless changes have been made of course) because I account for additional time over what I expect. Especially in renovations, it is very important to stay on the side of extra time, because sometimes you open a wall and find 3 other things to fix or alter before moving ahead. It is also important so that i can make sure i properly and accurately estimate a project, if i'm always trying to play catch up, eventually profits and jobs will be lost, stress will go up, and the quality has to go down at some point, as well as frustration by the customer because of an extended project. So remember to always add additional time to how long you believe something will take, it may make your renovation go much smoother. See more
