Now that we're getting into January, we are getting close to the date for our Semi-Annual General Meeting (SAGM). This year our SAGM will be on Tuesday, January 19, 2021 at 7pm. Due to current COVID-19 restrictions we will not be hosting anyone in-person at the church, attendance will be limited to Zoom only. Hello New Life Family and community, You may be aware of an apartment fire on December 31, 2020, that has displaced over 35 families. We now have an opportunity as a church to help those in need. We have offered the church as a place to sort these items. We need about ten (10) volunteers each day, and this would include today. If you are free to help, please let us know. We will be following COVID protocols throughout this process. As we work through this process, we will b...e asking for specific items for donation in the coming days. If you feel you have good quality shoes, jackets and other clothing, along with household items and furniture, please set it aside and await a time when we will be asking for them. If you are free today or over the next several days, please give Pastor Scott a call or text (250-540-9848). **We know many of you will want to be involved, but please do not just show up at the church - due to COVID we can only have so many people in the building at one time.

Today for our prayer focus we pray for Power. The true and almighty power of our Lord. Pray that we can see our weaknesses and have joy in them knowing that we are still strong through Christ. Pray that we remember to rely on the power of the Lord. Pray that people would see this strength that we have and be drawn to their own relationship with Jesus because of it. As we pray for power reflect on this verse: 'My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.' For today's prayer focus lets lift up musicians in prayer. A line of work where interaction with people is often critical - this has many musicians around the world in hard times or a long season of "pause". Pray for those in hard times financially to find creative ways to continue in their craft and to rely on the Lord's provision. Pray for those well established to take this season of rest to rejuvenate and be able to enjoy time to work on their music, write songs, and more. As we pray for musicians today meditate on this verse: "The Lord is good to those who wait for him, to the soul who seeks him." Almost 3 years before COVID-19 hit, Yemen was already declared the most needy place in the world, having endured over 5 years of civil war. With 80% of its population reliant on aid to survive, millions find themselves on the brink of starvation. With the many diseases and challenges that come with starvation, it's not difficult for COVID to both take hold and spread. In addition to a poor economy and poor health, there is also no religious freedom for the Yemeni people, only expatriates are allowed to practice anything outside of Islam. Pray for the spiritual and physical health of the Yemeni people. Today with our prayer focus we pray for those who are single. Being single can be a very lonely place for many, Pray that singles would be able to keep their focus on the Lord and not be turned aside by things of this world. Pray that they can trust in the Lord for His provision of their needs emotionally, spiritually and physically. Pray during this time of isolation they would be able to feel connected, appreciated and loved. As we pray for singles a good verse to focus on is: "Keep your lives free from the love of money and be content with what you have, because God has said, 'Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you.'" Today we share a prayer focus of Guidance. With our lives seeming to be a state of constant change, pray that we turn to God for His guidance. Pray that we lean into His strength as we face important decision after important decision. Pray that we seek His guidance and that we are able to feel confidence and peace that we are following His guidance. Today our prayer focus has us praying for Homeschool Families. During a time with so many unknowns in the world many are turning, or returning, to homeschooling. Pray for those who homeschool that God blesses their families and this can be a wonderful season of learning for them. Pray that they have the support that they need both from the educational system and their extended families and friends. Pray for peace with their choices for method of education. While we pray for homeschooling families we can reflect on these verses: "These commandments that I give you today are to be on your hearts. Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up."
