We will be re-opening our doors on Tuesday July 21, 2020. We will be doing a soft re-opening. Parents who have a confirmed space will be contacted next week with their start date. Parent Covid information packages will be available for pickup on Tuesday July 14th from 10 a.m - 1 p.m, for families who have a confirmed space. (If this is not possible, please contact me directly to make alternate arrangements) Although things may look somewhat different, our quality of care rema...ins the same. We look forward to welcoming you back For those families who didn’t receive a phone call, please know that you are on our list for when we are able to increase our enrolment. All families who were enrolled prior to Covid-19 will have a spot reserved once we are able to operate at 100% capacity. Hello Things continue to progress with our re-opening, we thank you for your patience during this time. This week we will be contacting current families who will be offered a spot in our program when we re-open. If you don’t hear from us by the end of the day Friday, that means we do not have a spot for you at this time. As you know our capacity has been greatly reduced therefore we will not be in a position to be able to provide care to everyone who requires it. The govern...ment has said that all spaces will be held however this will not be feasible until we are operating at FULL capacity. We have used the guidelines provided by the Ministry, a parent survey, as well as guidelines from our local DTSSAB to determine who will be able to return at this time. I know that this is a frustrating time for all. Please know that we are doing are very best given the circumstances. Take care. Wendy

Good-morning I will have access to the daycare on June 11th from 10am to 12pm. If you have any belongings that you would like please private message me. Unfortunately parents will not have access to the building, therefore I will be gathering your belongings and bringing them to the main entrance of the school. Times will be staggered to ensure physical distancing rules are followed. Please private message me if you need anything from the centre so I can give you a time to come and pick up. Thank you Wendy

Since the mandatory school closures across Ontario on March 13, District School Board Ontario North East (DSB1) has been exploring how to safely and responsibly... re-open our schools. Although the Ministry of Education has said that students will return to the classroom in September, a formal announcement on the re-opening of Ontario schools has not yet been made. We will communicate with families further once that announcement has been made. We thank the students, families and staff who have provided input for our re-opening plan through an online survey. Results from this survey will be shared in early July. We continue to work with the Ministry of Education, the Porcupine Health Unit and the Timiskaming Health Unit to create a draft plan to re-open our schools. We will provide engagement opportunities for families to provide input on this plan this summer. The final plan will be shared with you prior to our schools re-opening so you can make an informed decision about sending your child(ren) to school. We are preparing for three possible scenarios for the 2020-2021 school year. We may shift between these scenarios based on national, provincial and local trends. 1. Face-to-face all-day learning for all students (this is unlikely in the fall) 2. Adaptive learning model (this could include staggered days to respect physical distancing and gathering guidelines) 3. Educator-led distance learning We want to reassure you that the safety and well-being of students, families and staff are our main priority. We are putting resources in place to ensure a smooth transition for all students. We look forward to sharing additional information with you as it becomes available.
