New Maryland Clinic Update. January 2021. 'Please be Patient', we are trying to help the best we can. Please remember that the New Maryland Clinic is not a mandated clinic. It is Dr. Baker’s personal clinic and is open to everyone. Correct Clinic information can be found on this Facebook page. (other websites may be incorrect).... 2020 has been OVERWHELMING at the New Maryland Clinic. Numerous Family Doctors have left their practices/retired over the past 1-2 years, leaving tens of thousands of patients without a regular family physician. We are trying to help as many people as possible. Beginning in 2021, New Maryland Clinic will be opened Monday to Thursday. Our phone line opens at 4:00 pm. PLEASE PHONE FIRST. (506)-458-8927. Please show patience and keep hitting ‘re-dial’, as there are 'Thousands of people' trying to call. The clinic takes the first 30 patients, with either phone consultations or brief in-person appointments, depending on the issue. The clinic is usually FULL by 5:00-6:00 pm, and we unfortunately turn away 30+ more patients every evening. Most people appreciate our services, but some are now becoming angry and aggressive towards the clinic staff. We understand that many are frustrated because they do not have a primary care physician, but we ask that you do not direct your anger toward the clinic. Again, we are trying to help as many people as possible. **Please Phone First. Please do ‘NOT’ show up at the clinic to get an appointment as we must screen everyone for COVID symptoms. **We only take ‘Same Day’ appointments (phone appointments or brief in-person appointments). We are a ‘Same Day Clinic’ Otherwise we would be booked up for 6 months. **If you have an ‘in person’ appointment time, please wait in your car and come into the clinic at the ‘exact’ appointment time. (please wear a mask). **If you have a ‘Phone Consultation’, the Doctor will call you back the same evening. (typically between 5:00-8:00 pm). Thank You.

The staff will assist in determining your next step: 1) Many common issues can/will be handled by phone (via the Doctor), and you may not even need to come to the clinic. Ask the staff and we will help to decide if your issue can be handled by phone. 2) If the patient’s issue can NOT be handled by phone OR if the patient would still like to see the Doctor face to face, we are setting up BRIEF APPOINTMENTS for the same evening. NOTE: We will be booking BRIEF APPOINTMENTS beginning at 5:00 pm. These appointments should be kept short and concise to allow for cleaning and disinfecting between patients. To ensure Maximum Physical Distancing, our goal is to have only 1 patient in the clinic at any one time. To keep the appointments brief, we please ask that you limit your concerns to 1 or 2 short medical issues.

Corona Virus Update. Due to the current Corona Virus Pandemic, The New Maryland clinic will be changing the way patients are assessed and treated. To help follow the public guidelines for SOCIAL DISTANCING, We DO NOT want groups of people standing outside of the clinic waiting to enter at 4:45, and we DO NOT want multiple people in the waiting room/clinic at any one period of time during the evening.... STARTING TODAY, WEDNESDAY MARCH 18, until further notice. NEW PROCEDURE at the New Maryland Clinic. Our phone line opens at 4:00 pm daily (Monday to Friday). We are encouraging patients to CALL THE CLINIC. PHONE (506) 458-8927. Please have your NAME, MEDICARE #, DATE OF BIRTH, and a CONTACT PHONE # available. Ask the staff and we will help to decide if your issue can be handled by phone. 2) If the patient’s issue can NOT be handled by phone OR if the patient would still like to see the Doctor face to face, we are setting up 15 APPOINTMENTS for the same evening. We will be giving appointments at 15-minute intervals beginning at 5:00 pm. We are trying to have LESS THAN 1 or 2 patients in the clinic at any time. 3) In the short term we will still likely accept a FEW WALK-IN PATIENTS each evening, but we are encouraging all patients to call prior to presenting to the clinic. COMMON ISSUES: 1) Prescription refills (non narcotic). The easiest method would be to get YOUR PHARMACY to FAX your prescriptions to the CLINIC FAX (506) 458-9649. 2) Notes for Physio/Massage/Chiropractor/psychologist etc. covered by your personal insurance plan. 3) Minor medical issues. (especially if we have seen you at the clinic for the same issue in the past). 4) If you are unsure, call the clinic for advice. This is an evolving situation, and we will continue to adjust our Clinic Assessment Procedures, if necessary, over the coming weeks. Thank you for your patience, Dr. Baker
