With the advent of New Brunswick entering the Yellow Phase we are excited to be able to start hosting powerlifting meets again. This past winter has been tough for many competitive sports organizations, so it’s nice to see the potential for competition in the near future. A lot of our members have found ways to train through all of this and are looking to get back on the platform as soon as possible. With 2020 CPU Nationals cancelled this year, there is now a focus on each re...gion (West, Central, East) to host their respective regional events in the fall. For us, this means Eastern Championships in Nova Scotia later this year. Our plan is to have 1-2+ meets between now and then so our members have the opportunity to get the qualifying standards needed for competing at Easterns. For the past few years we have always hosted our meets in the Moncton area. Part of the plan for NBPL going forward is to start having meets held in other major centres like Saint John, Fredericton, and Northern NB. We will have at least one if not more of these additional meets in another region this year. This will help empower these regions to continue to grow and make the competitive side of the sport more accessible. We will be speaking with members who have shown interest in hosting meets in these regions over the next couple of weeks to plan out potential dates and locations. We are also going to be releasing another line of official NBPL hoodies and hats, so stay tuned for these updates over the next few weeks. Cheers, RJ Forbes President, NBPL

Karine St-Coeur is one of five recipients of the CPU Scholarship. Karine is at the beginning of her educational journey, currently studying massage therapy at the Atlantic College of Massage Therapy. After completing that program, she plans to further her education with a bachelors in Kinesiology. Karine started powerlifting in 2019, and has already qualified to represent Canada at Worlds and holds the national 47kg sub-junior records. The CPU scholarship will help Karin...e in her pursuit to keep improving in the sport while studying. As she moves into the junior age category she plans to break more records and represent Canada when international competitions resume. @deadliftsandquads @newbrunswickpowerlifting See more

@cpupowerlifting Big news on Nationals date. The CPU, in conjunction with the National Meet Director, have decided to move the CPU National Championship to the month of May, 2021. Moving Nationals forward will allow more training for you all, more time to develop the event during the government restrictions, and also provide more time for Provinces to run events. Looking forward, the IPF's calendar has also been adjusted and has no conflicts with the new dates of the C...PU National Championship in St. Johns, NFLD, May 7-14, 2021. @bcpowerliftingassociation @fqd.dynamophilie @manitobapowerlifting @newbrunswickpowerlifting @nlpowerlifting @novascotiapowerlifting @ontariopowerlifting @peipowerlifting @saskpowerlifting #powerlifting #cpunats2021 #canadapowerlifting @cpunationals #cpupowerlifting See more

2020 NBPL Provincials post meet update: We’ve had a bit of time to recollect after the meet and look back upon what we believe to be a very successful event. This was the first CPU meet in Eastern Canada since the COVID-19 quarantine started earlier this year. It was different than normal but in the end, everyone worked together and stayed compliant maintaining the safety of our lifters, volunteers, and community. Even with these restrictions, we had National and Provincial...Continue reading
