Well hello everyone. I know it's been quiet this season but I'm hoping to post more this weekend. Team NB has arrived in London, On for the Coloplast Wheelchair Rubgy Nationals. Heeeeeeeere we go.... The 2013/2014 season is underway. We had our first practice just over a week ago. I'm very very excited to share with you that we had 2 new people come out. One is a veteran to the sport but hasn't played in 14 years. He said after "Thank you, I forgot how much I loved this sport". Another is a 17 year old spit fire from Saint John. He suffered an injury 2 years ago while playing hockey. He has been playing basketball for the last year but I think... after 1 practice, he is hooked on rugby. He has huge potential to develop into a strong candidate for the National team. He has good hands & can throw the ball both far & accurately. I must say that the entire team left feeling pretty good about the season ahead. This season we are trying something new in the Atlantic. In hopes of growing the sport & to give all of us more opportunity to play, we are developing an "Atlantic League". We took all the players from NB & NS and made three competitive teams. This saturday at Le Masquaret in Moncton we will be hosting the first of 4 Atlantic League tournaments. I'd like to encourage everybody to come out & watch. If anyone would like to volunteer we could use your help. There are things like the score clock, equipment to move, tires to change & people needing help with transfers. Well I guess its time to give the results of Nationals. We went into the weekend ranked 4th and no one was expecting us to win anything. We started very strong in the 1st game against BC B. It was a tight game all the way to the end. BC managed to tie it up with only seconds left on the clock and force it into overtime.
