Too many local families are still unable to meet their basic needs for food, shelter, and clothing. Our program GLOW provides free gently-used clothing, so no one has to choose between a warm coat and a warm meal. Your gift of $30 will keep two people warm this winter - and if you donate before December 31, your gift will be eligible for a 2020 tax receipt. Please, give today! http://ow.ly/drmz50CU2GD
To all New Circles volunteers: Happy International Volunteer Day! Thank you so much for working on our front lines and ensuring that our clients have the warm clothing they need to get them through this tough winter! We couldn’t do it without you! #TogetherWeCan #IVD2020
Because of you, one more of over 13,000 people has received the clothing they urgently need to stay warm and dry this winter. It’s not too late to donate: https://www.canadahelps.org/en/dn/55804 #ThankYouThursday #GivingTuesdayCA
Unfortunately, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, once again we have had to put a hold on accepting clothing donations. If you have winter donations, please consider holding onto them until the lockdown is over.
(5/5) This #GivingTuesdayCA, you can turn someone’s first winter in Canada into the wonderland we all hope it can be. Together, we can make sure that thousands of vulnerable people get the winter wear, clothes and human connections they need. Show your support today https://www.canadahelps.org/en/dn/27965
Happy holidays! Thank you to the incredible supporters that keep New Circles moving forward in leaps and bounds by donating funds, clothing, volunteer time, and so much more. We wish you a warm and healthy holiday season and look forward to our continued partnership in 2021!
(4/5) The COVID-19 pandemic has been difficult for everyone. But newcomers, refugees and people on low incomes are the hardest hit in so many ways. They’re more likely to get sick. They’re more likely to face income loss, homelessness and hunger. I worry about people feeling isolated, scared, cold and alone. I worry because I felt like that too. That’s why it’s so important that we do everything we can to keep Toronto warm. New Circles isn’t just a place to get clothes; it’s a place to build connections, where vulnerable people are welcomed and supported. At New Circles, they remember they’re not alone. And warm themselves by the GLOW of your care and support. Donate this #GivingTuesdayCA https://www.canadahelps.org/en/dn/55804
As the rest of the year unfolds and we head into 2021, New Circles is committed to continue serving our clients safely and responsively, no matter what we may face as a community. Together we can make sure that thousands of vulnerable people get the winter wear, clothes and human connections they need. #KeepTorontoWarm and donate today: https://www.canadahelps.org/en/dn/55804
(3/5) My favourite part of my job is helping other newcomers and vulnerable people because I was once in that situation. I can relate to what they’re going through. I still remember my first winter in Canada. It wasn’t that long ago. I loved the sight of fresh snow on the groundthe breathtaking ice sculptures on display in our beautiful city. But winter was also really hard for me. I didn’t know how to dress for the cold. I didn’t know that without the right clothes, coat and boots, the fierce wind could sink the cold right into your bones and stay there. For days, sometimes. Being so cold made me feel even more alone back then. But even if I knew how to dress for the winter as a refugee, I didn’t have the money to buy the clothes I needed.
