Newfoundland Pet Care & Dog Training 15.07.2021

*Adopted Meet Lady. This senior, spay girl is 11 yrs young and is looking for her forever home. She lost her previous owner and his wife went into a home. Lady ...is a sweet soul that gets along well with other dogs, but she really prefers to have all the attention. She also really seems to love men, but we think she would thrive in any home where she can lounge on the couch with her new person. Hey Since lady is a senior, a home with no children or older kids is best suited. If lady seems like a good fit for your family please fill out an adoption application on our website www.rescuenl.com

**Adopted Meet Skipper. This handsome guy is a Cape Shore Water dog and is just a pup at 6 months old. He was recently neutered and is still recovering and will... soon be ready to go to a forever home. Skipper is an amazing boy. He is looking for a family that has experience with dogs and has lots of time to spend with him. He has some resource guarding issues and will need owners that can work with him on this. Skipper can be shy meeting new people. He has interacted well around the dogs and cats he has been around. An active family with no small kids is essential. If you have the time and experience and think Skipper is a good fit for your family, please fill out an adoption application (under adoption) on our website www.rescuenl.com **Please Do Not Call Or Message the Page** Selected Applicants will be contacted when applications are screened. Usually within 3-5 business days.

ADOPTED! PLEASE NOTE: Rocko is now NEUTERED! Meet Rocko & Rockette, They are 7 year old boxer mixes. They had to come to the shelter through no fault of their ...own as their owner could no longer provide care for them. They have been together since they were puppies but Rocko is the older of the two by 6 months. Although Rockette is the smaller of the two she seems to wear the pants in the relationship. Rocko is 68 lbs and Rockette is 43 lbs. They are still quite active for their age and love to go for walks together. They have been to the vet and vaccinated in the past but since coming to us have had a vaccine and deworming. They both will be neutered/spayed this month by us. We are told they are good with kids ( we prefer older children) but have not been around cats (they will chase them) or other dogs as Rockette can be a bit hostile towards other dogs. This could be due to the fact she is not spayed or she could be jealous over Rocko. We would love to keep this bonded duo together as they have spent their whole lives together. Also a fenced yard would definitely be an asset as well as experience with the boxer breed. If you want to adopt this dynamic duo, then please click on the CONTACT US button at the top of the page to be redirected to our website where you can apply. Please note that due COVID-19 Government Restrictions our shelter will be open to the general public Monday- Saturday 11am - 4pm. Masks are mandatory with an 8-person capacity. Adoptions will operate by appointment only.

ADOPTED! 2 For 1 ADOPTION FEE! (A generous person has paid $150 towards their adoption fee!) SEEKING EXPERIENCED DOG OWNERS! NO CHILDREN!... Rooco (brown husky) and Lad (black husky) were born in 2013 in Igloolik, Nunavut which leaves them at 7 years old. They were neutered and house trained. Their initial training commands included ‘sit’, ‘lie down’, ‘wait’ and ‘come’. At feed time they were taught to ‘sit’ and ‘wait’ until given the command ‘OK’, for them to eat. With origins in Nunavut, and having been hardened to the cold immediately, they are very hardy dogs and have never had any health problems. They have been regularly vaccinated and treated for parasites. They have been well socialized with other dogs, but it is normal for there to be ‘rough’ play at the outset of meeting a new acquaintance. These dogs both have very dominant personalities so there will need to be some training or precautions in that sense, we will be sending these dogs to a home with no small children. Rocco and Lad have fantastic personalities. They are happy, energetic dogs and need an abundance of exercise and effective training/discipline. Rocco and Lad love to pull. They have done a lot of skijoring over the years and in the later years they have been used wintertime to transport water to a barn for horses. They get a lot of satisfaction out of pulling, and exhibit best behavior when they have a purpose, and ample opportunity to expend energy. Rocco and Lad would make excellent companions for an outdoor enthusiast who has an interest and understanding of husky-like breeds (as they are not purebred), and who is motivated to implement effective training/discipline. If you are interested in adopting these handsome guys please click on the CONTACT US button at the top of the page to go to our website and fill out an adoption application.

UPDATE: ADOPTED My name is Phoenix and I am looking for a very special retirement home. I am a senior male neutered golden retriever who's owner passed away su...ddenly. The humane services staff have been taking very good care of me and have noticed that my back legs do hurt me some, especially after I have been lying down for a while, but they tested my blood and my organs are working well . I am 10-12 years old and really need an extra special home that can support me as I continue to age. I have spent my life as the only pet in the household without children, as a result I am really not comfortable around little ones and other animals. We are not accepting email or telephone inquires. Please complete the questionnaire and email if you wish to be considered. We will be contacting potential matches once questionnaires have been reviewed. The shelter is still closed to the public but we will be booking appointments for approved adopters so they can meet me to decide if I might be a good fit for them. If you think you have room in your heart for me, fill out a questionnaire online and email it to [email protected] http://www.stjohns.ca/fo/dog-adoption-questionnaire-pw-1012 See more

Pawsitively Pampered gave us a great shout our on their page after meeting them at the Pet Expo yesterday! They are a mobile Pet Grooming service in St. John's that we will definitely be recommending to our clients who love the convenience of not having to bring your dog to the salon or pick them up after! We had an absolute blast at the Expo and thanks to everyone who came out to support all the local pet businesses!
