WATER OUTAGE NOTICE Trenton Rd Area New Glasgow The Town of New Glasgow Water Utility wishes to advise customers there will be a water outage on Tuesday, October 13th and Thursday, October 15th starting at 8:30 am to 3:30 pm.... This outage is necessary to replace two fire hydrants in the area. To avoid any inconvenience, please set aside sufficient water for this period of time. When the water service is restored, run your water until it runs clear. We also advise you to turn off the shutoff valve in your basement to prevent any back siphonage of water. The Town of New Glasgow regular COUNCIL and COMMITTEE OF THE WHOLE meetings will take place in the Council Chambers at Town Hall on TUESDAY, OCTOBER 6th starting at 5:30 p.m. PLEASE NOTE THAT COVID-19 PROTOCOLS ARE IN PLACE AS FOLLOWS: Any public wishing to attend a Town Council or Committee of Whole meeting MUST pre-register with Town Hall by phoning Kelly Sloan at 902-755-8333. This will allow the Town to collect contract-tracing information in the event of potential... exposure to COVID-19 as well as ensure the Town does not exceed the maximum attendance number. 6 Public attendance will be limited to a maximum of six (6) members of the public and registration is on a first come first serve basis. All attendees (Council, staff, members of the public and media) will be required to wear a non-medical mask at all times when moving about within Town Hall. Once attendees are seated in Council Chambers in accordance with six feet of physical/social distancing from others present, attendees may remove masks if they desire to do so. Total attendance (Including Council, staff, and the public/media) in Council Chambers for each meeting will be limited to a maximum of 20 people. You will be asked to complete a COVID-19 health screening during pre-registration. Priority for public attendance will be given to delegations presenting to Council.

New Glasgow Fire Department Paid On-Call Member Applicants: The New Glasgow Fire Department is looking to recruit new hourly paid on-call members. Applicants must be nineteen (19) years of age at the date of application and eligible to be covered under the Nova Scotia Workers Compensation Act. ... Applicants must reside within the Town boundaries protected by the New Glasgow Fire Department. In addition, applicants must hold a valid Nova Scotia Class 5 Drivers License and have regular access to a motor vehicle. Applicants must be community-minded and willing to donate volunteer time to the betterment of the Fire Department. Interested parties may pick up an application at the New Glasgow Fire Hall and all applicants must provide a clean criminal record check. Closing date for application is October 16/2020.
