New Glasgow's Art at Night

Thank you to everyone who submitted to participate in this year’s virtual Art at Night! We are very excited about the submissions we received, and are looking forward to Saturday, May 1. We will be releasing more information soon, as well as contacting all of the artists who submitted!

We know you haven’t heard from us in a while, but we’ve been working out some details for this year’s virtual event, held here on Facebook on Saturday, May 1! Submission will be open for one more week and will close on WEDNESDAY, APRIL 7!! We have lots of great submissions already, and we’d love to see many more! Hello everyone! We have been working on a plan for this year, and although times are of course tricky, we will be bringing you another exciting virtual event on Saturday, May 1! We got a feel for this style of event last year, and are hoping to improve on it and make it even better this year. We will be releasing some more details and a submission form for artists in the coming weeks. ... As always, we are so excited to bring you an exciting evening of local art, of all forms. Since 2012, we have been committed to showcasing the artists that live in our community. We wanted to provide an update on our planning for our new online event. We are still working out details, but here are somethings that we do know that we can pass along: - Our event will be held on the same day, Saturday, May 2nd. The exact times aren't set yet, but it will of course be in the evening! - This will be hosted on Facebook. This platform reaches our largest audience. We will share as much as we can across other social medias.... - We will create a public group on Facebook, where artists will create a post with your artwork. We will then approve the posts according to the schedule that we create, which is still to be determined. - If you are a performer (music, dance, comedy, etc.) and you'd like to participate, we can do so via video. Ideally, this would be a video recorded for this event, or you can even go live! Once we receive the submissions, we will create a schedule and again, approve the posts according to the schedule. We know that Art at Night is very important to a lot of you, just as it is important to us. We appreciate your understanding and patience as we figure out exactly how to make the best of our current situation. Hey everyone! Now that we have had a few days since our cancellation announcement to regroup, we had a meeting with the board tonight, via Zoom of course, and have some exciting news! Although we are still working on the details, we don't want the current situation to take the opportunity for us all to come together and share and appreciate the art of our extremely talented community. We are in the beginning stages of organizing a way to hold Art at Night virtually here on Fa...cebook. It will look different, but our goals stay the same; bringing community together, showcasing local artists, and create an opportunity for artists to sell their work. We are working on a new submission form for anybody who is interested in participating, so keep an eye out for that. For those artists who have already submitted, we haven't forgotten about you! We will be in touch via email as well. COVID-19 Statement The Art at Night team has been in discussion about the future of this year’s event in regards to the spread of COVID-19. At this time, we feel that it is best to cancel this year’s Art at Night. Although this is a very disappointing decision, we know that it is the proper step to do our part in preventing the spread of COVID-19. We have been following the science and the decisions made by the government and those in charge. We feel that these regulations a...re the right step and we implore that everyone follows them. To all of the artists that have submitted, we thank you for the time and effort that you have already, or would, put in to make Art at Night successful. To all the venues and sponsors who agreed to support us, we appreciate all that you do for us. Our event would not be possible without you. Stay safe everyone!
