Happy International Town Crier Day to one and all !!

I delivered a cry to long term care staff as 4 churches rang out across Pictou Co.: St. Andrew’s Kirk Church, NG, West River Presbyterian in Durham, Bridgeville United Church and St. Andrew’s, Stellarton each rang a church bell or played chimes in honour of the long term care workers and their outstanding work ethic and caring. Long-term care workers across the province were recognized on Friday, June 26 as an initiative of the Nursing Homes of Nova Scotia Association.

Today June 30th, 2020 marks my 28th anniversary as Town Crier of New Glasgow, Nova Scotia. Proud to be a member of a unique fraternity!

I have received word that my Virtual Cry (See note for full cry) was the winner of the Melksham UK Virtual Spring Championships - 2020. Thanks Peter Dauncy! Congratulations also to Carole Williams (2nd) and Roy Goodwin (3rd).

At 6PM AST the bell sang 22 times to represent the victims of the Nova Scotia mass shooting alongside church bells in the province to provide hope and comfort to our neighbours. #NovaScotiaRemembers #NovaScotiaStrong
